I was actually going to open it up to votes and comments to everyone if it was close, but it wasn't. I'm also quite tired of deleting stupid comments on a regular basis, so this option seems to make most of the people happy, most of the time.

I vote "nay" for forced signups. Although I have not written a story for a very long time, the comments I occasionally get now, and the ones I received during my writing days, are mostly from those 'anonymous' readers, and mostly encouraging. I do not mind the bad comments, unless they detract from everything and get too juvenile.
I understand view numbers, but to get an actual comment on a story that I wrote a long time ago is so nice.
