Just read a good astronomy/cosmology text. I basically accept the current state of the art. It's still full of gaps and developing, of course, but that's one of the things I love about science. I'm a curious, questioning person and science is about curiousity and questioning.

As for readership, I pretty much agree with RejectReality. I post my stories so others can read them so how many do that does matter. But I'm not comparing myself with other authors, just wanting as many eyeballs as possible on my work.

Like you, I find science to be a fascinating subject. Its never-ending discoveries won’t ever answer all the parts of the puzzle, but instead, most times those scientific breakthroughs pose more questions, however, that is part of its charm. I can’t help but envy the college and university students of today. The opportunities that are open to them are endless. I love learning new things, and that’s why I’m in the process of enrolling in a computer programming course. At my age, I must be nuts to even think of doing such a thing. But more than once I’ve been told that ‘I’m crazy’, so maybe I am. Simply thinking about astronomy and the possibility of life existing somewhere else in the cosmos sends my mind whirling. Maybe that’s why I’ve been a big fan of science fiction stories such as Star Trek, dating back to Captain Kirk and the USS Enterprise.

I agree with the comments being made about views, and I’ll admit I’m as bad as the rest of you for hoping that people like what I’ve helped write. I’m also guilty of whenever I’m in my biography, I can’t resist scrolling down and checking the number of views on the stories listed there. It’s a nice feeling if I see the number has increased, even by two or three on one of them.

There is no way I’d ever begin to think I’m in the same class as many of the fantastic authors here. No doubt most of them have forgotten more about writing than I’ll ever know. But that’s okay, I’ll keep trying. I’m quite happy in my little world with the response my co-author and I have received. Three out of four stories are over the 30,000 mark and the fourth is creeping up to that level. One story passed the 60,000 plateau yesterday. Because of the site’s word limitation, we had to split that one into two segments, so if we add the views to the second part, we’re looking at well over 95,000. It completely blows my mind to think that every man, woman and child in a small city has read our words. What an honour that is. I wish that was for only one, as I’d love to be able to wear that Legionary badge. I think it would look nice pinned to my shirt. Given time, I’m sure I will.
