how about if we give the site a Disney themed look? smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

oh oh!!! I second this!! Please please!!! I want glitter on my profile!!!! That would be sooooooo cool! And little fireworks could explode when I get a new message, etc! *giggles*
Not sure if I should be posting this here, or just sending it as a message to Gav or Pixie...

But...been having problems for a long time when doing forum searches...whenever I do a search for a topic under "All forums" I get a pop-up error message that says...

"An error occurred in the database"

If I narrow my search down to just, say, "The Pub" I have no problem...

The thing is, I don't always know where a topic originally posted...it could be The Pub, it might be The Lounge...
Well, you get the idea...
So...could we have an improved forum search thingy? Thanks...

I get that all the time Alan. It's particularly bad when we have thousands of people on at any one time.

I believe it will naturally get fixed when the new data server is in operation (I hope so at least).

Now you're just being particular. Do like I recently did and turn your beer cooler with tap, into your computer case to house your motherboard and cpu. Just add a pony keg, it fits just under the video graphics card, side mounted.

I liquid cool my cpu and enjoy a few cold ones. It works well, about the time I'm ready to turn off the pc for the night, I'm good & crocked, have already transformed the coolant into waste water and shouldn't be typing drunk on the internets anyway.

I use my cat for my smoke filtration system. Do not ask how.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
Now you're just turning this thread into silliness. Go to your rooms.

Voice/Cam Capabilities in the private window chat, instead of having to use another messenger would be awesome! I'm sure this idea what thrown around many many times before.

Something tells me you probably have an instructional video you could post in the forum...if you have not already...

You have to be careful about getting your cat hooked on cigs...

Though, I am not really sure that smoking is my cat's worst problem...if you catch my drift here...

Try fixing your kitty a bloody mary Dirty,
She'll be up chasing mice in no time.

Thats a hell of an idea WMM, I'm not sure If I can pack all this plus my motherboard, and cpu thing in there tho,
whether I mount the graphics card side ways or not?

This thread needs to get back to being serious.

Nicola your picture made me laugh

Okay so this is serious *clears throat*
Is there any way we could offer more choices under the sexual orientation tab in our profile? Like a pansexual or a "flexi-sexual" type?

I'm sorry Nicola,
I started this nonsense with just that one silly statement....

I don't know about any one else, but this would certainly help me out.
When I post a pic. from my own personal camera in the forums,
It stretches the screen out to about the size of a small bus?
Since I rode the short bus, I have no idea how to size them down.
But, if I post them on my home page under my pics., they are automatically sized down.

I did make a few attempts by sending them to my photo shop first, and resizing them, but to no avail.
My question then is this: Could Gav incorporate that same auto re-size feature to the forums?
The forum code is off limits.

I use this excellent free resizer. You can resize images in bulk if you have lots of them: http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDownload.htm

The other way is open up the image in mspaint, there's a button there for resizing.

The trouble with doing it programmatically like you're suggesting, is it often just shrinks the image, but all the detail remains, which means you have a small looking file which is still 2mb in size. I think that's how it works.

It might be a fun option to have something like that.

I would take it one step further and have a chat roulette type option too.
Autosave draft when writing a story on lush.
At times one can see people come into the chat rooms frustrated that their whole story is gone due to connection loss or computer shutting off. If there was an automatic save function every 5 or so minutes the loss would be minimal. (At least if people are like me and one page takes 5 hours to write)
Many, many thanks Nicola.
I will give that thee old boy scout try.
I too liked your white kitty pic.

Wouldn't you be better off just writing the story in MS Word, or Wordpad, or Notepad even...anything but writing it directly into the Lush submission form?
I know the submission form has spell-check, but I don't think much else...I always start in MS Works Word Processor, which came with my netbook, and at some point run it through Word2007, because it has a better grammar check...
I like working in MS Works though...it's simpler than Word, and I get confused easy...something like that...

Correct DM. I've said many many times, it doesn't matter where you submit your story to, EVERY website can go down, your internet connection can fail etc.

ALWAYS write your story offline and save it regularly. I autosave documents every 2 minutes with Word, I type fast and hate having to double handle work.
I'd never write it on here, I'd rather write it on my mail if I had to write online, for whatever reason. I do however know that many newcomers write in the lush submissionbox.

After witnessing a large volume of trolls recently, specifically in the chat rooms, I was wondering whether we need to expose the number of blocks someone has received. This could be used as a measure whether to accept someones friendship or not.

Thoughts?

In one word - NO WAY- sorry lol that was two.

While some blocking is legitimate, some blocking is done because of ridiculous reasons.

When I was a chat mod, I saw many blocked because of a) they were new and didn't know the rules, or b) they wrote something that was blown out of proportion and then mob attacked and blocked, c) because they - wait for it - used the provided whisper button or d) dared to talk about sex in the bedroom

Another example, I have been blocked myself, because I either have not talked enough to this one particular person or I did not jump/pawn all over them (this person is a serial blocker - one of many, I may add). If I had harassed this member, I would and could understand having it displayed for all to see but for now, I would not like every tom, big dick and harry to see it and would not like to be judged because of it - unless you add a 'reason for blocking' to it.

I may have been blocked also by others simply because I am a story verifier???

To have that or any of the other reasons I gave, then displayed on say our profile that we have been blocked is not really appropriate. I can see many will simply delete their account and create a new one.

Great idea but unjust for those who have been blocked for silly reasons. Also, be prepared for emails from members asking who and why they are blocked LOL when they suddenly can see that they have been blocked.
to add to Fugly's post, i've blocked a couple of people for the simple fact that while in the chat room they were posting pics and it was making it hard to chat. Perfectly nice people, but at the time, it was annoying me.

omg, just the thought of writing online as opposed to off makes my tummy do belly rolls. bad enough to lose an email that way, but a whole story? yeah, wow... i use Microsoft Word and tend to save at the end of every paragraph i write.

I agree with the two above posts re: public blocking notice. Ideally, you have communicated with or observed the person who has "friended" you. If you're having to make a decision with no information, it's probably unfair for the only volunteered information to be negative in nature.

I agree with the above 3, plus it will just create more drama. Members that are blocked will probably be asked why or what happened to get them blocked.. It's unfair.
