How about a ''Are you sure?'' button when deleting friends via the dropdown on your friend's page. I found it surprisingly easy to accidentally delete a friend I was trying to talk to and the undo button didn't work. If it was a two step process, it would never happen accidentally. Thank you. Oh and Nicola, your kitty with headphones av is hysterical! Rock on!

Congrats on your first post babe!!!!!!
What happened to the search the forums function where you could search for posts by subject, or by member name? It was a good function, especially to search for a thread before creating a new similar thread. Please bring it back!

From best memory .. which isnt great these days .. that option from the 'Search' was removed since it wasnt working properly and there were other reasons but I dont recall those.

However there is the 'Search' in the boxed area once in the forums that uses Google Custom and Ive tested that entering part of a thread name and its great returning everything with the search you entered .. it does not however allow your search based on the members name who posted the thread.

Hope that helps.
Stamp a thumbs up when reading a person's post you agree on. or maybe a kiss instead of a thumbs up

and what about the thumbs down and pinches butt .. i.e. where would one stop with those options? Isnt the quote with whatever you want to say enough?

Just my personal thoughts .. not saying its not a good idea smile
I see where you are coming from.

However I disagree a little . A thumbs up is a quickie " hey I like you words "

A thumbs down is a " hey I don't like your words", this is not a quickie, this is the time for a quote and justifIcation of why your thoughts differ.

I think there is a little too much negativity going on sometimes in lush and I would hate to suggest tools to enhance that.

A thumbs up is like a little pat on the back without filling a thread up with "ditto"s.

But as I said I see you point of view too.

The online chat box, not IM/BB is a whole different browser window. You can chat on it very easily, it works well. But if between messages you want to go to the forum or your profile, you have to go (or at least I do on google chrome) the status bar on bottom of computer and select the browser window that has the home site. Then do that again to select the browser with chat when you want to send or receive a new message.

Thanks for looking into it. It may even streamline the site a little bit to go to the smaller onscreen thing. That kind of thing is wayyy out of my league, if anyone can do it, Gav can.

I know one of the older browsers (it might have been netscape or something) gave you the option of setting a particular window or browsing session to always stay on top providing it was not maximized of course. I have not figured out a way to do it with chrome, but if there was a way to set that chat box window to always on top, that would solve that issue I think. Yeah, its a secondary browser open, but keeping it always on top would work.
Hello... you may not know me, I'm new, but a little birdy told me this was the place to go to suggest improvements and such...

I would love to post some stories along with my poems, but I'm finding that none of mine meet the 3,000 word minimum. Is there any chance you could add in a category like Flash Erotica or something?

Thank you for reading and considering my request... any comments from other members are, obviously, welcome...

it's a 3000 character minimum, which means about 600 words, actually.

I, like many, have certain categories of Lush stories hidden. One of those categories is "Love Poems". The categories I chose to hide was so they wouldn't show up on the stories page when I'm browsing. However, if a friend posts a story on my hidden list, such as a Love Poem, I can't read it without unclicking that tab in the hidden story section of my settings. Then re-selecting to hide it when I'm done. Can Lush make an override that if I specifically click on a link to a story that it will allow me to read it? If I'm looking at a story on a friend's page I can see if what category it falls under, manually clicking it should override the preference.

It would be nice to have an input box for author's notes to readers that can appear at the beginning of the story, similar to the input for moderator notes.

I'm guessing that the reason notes aren't wanted at the beginning is because they they show up in the preview of the story on the front page, category page, etc. A specific input box could allow that to happen without change, and only display on the story itself.

There are times when chronological notes and such really need to be at the beginning of the story, rather than at the end.

I love this idea.

yes, I have seen that option, but the search for posted by was really good when trying to find one of your own older posts, or someone else's for that matter. I always thought it worked pretty well. rather than remove it, why didn't they fix it?

we tried. it was an issue, if i recall, the was inherent in the software or something and Gav would have had to strip the entire site down in order to address it.

I know it would be a big undertaking, but a video chat room would be interesting.
How about an autoscroll? So you can read a story and the page automatically scrolls down as you read? Sometimes it's a bit difficult to use the mouse if your hands are ummmm busy!!! *blush*

lol. I quite like that idea! With a variable speed setting. I think I've been looking in our new store a little too much
I know we already have an area for toy reviews and so forth, which is really good and helpful...

I was thinking it might be nice to have an area for other sorts of reviews and experiences - like website reviews, dating sites, that sort of thing? I don't know if there's the need for it, but I just thought I'd post it here while it was fresh in my mind...
I'd like to have the Avg. score points and distribution bars at the top of the story, in addition to (or substituting for) the Score Story box there now. It makes more sense to provide information about the story at the first, and opportunity to score at the end of the story.

Thanks for all the work on the site... Nearly everything works well, which is NOT the norm on many sites that focus on stories.
Photo exchange in Private chat would be nice.

While I do agree that moving the Help link to the bottom cleaned up the top bar nicely, could we get a link to at least the FAQ at the bottom of every page?

I reference the Emoticons frequently in chat, having to go back to the main page every time get's to be a pain.

Ha ha, you know me SO well smile
If this is an old discussion, please forgive me. I will go back over all of the posts in this thread, but I wanted to put this out there to get feedback.

I wonder how hard it would be to add a sharing functionality to allow authors to collaborate on a story here on the site itself? If this was possible, it would allow us to help each other with editing (the bane of my existence) as well as full out collaboration. Being able to co-author stories and have them show up in both authors' profiles would be amazing as well. It would also let me keep all of my "Lush" writing here on the site and not on my computer proper.

I also wanted to say that I love the site! I've only been here for a short time, but I'm completely impressed with the quality of the stories and the jobs that the editors do, even when it pisses me off. smile
Is there a way to remove the "Friends Birthday's" list from your profile? I find it very annoying!

Well, I recently saw a post, a woman was looking for a story, but didn't know what it was called. She had a few major details about the plot, but that was it. I told her for future reference to put stories on her favorites list. Maybe you create some search feature where you can type in details, and find stories with those.
