Is it possible to have a pull down menu for pages (Forum threads/posts/email etc...)?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean. We have pull down menus at the top of the page already; are you asking to populate one with all of the forum topics?

This is what we have for the page numbers now... with a first and a last link too...

This is the idea I am suggesting... a pull down menu for pages... having the numbers drop down though, not the thread sections.

The reason I am asking.... We just recently started the Think Tank... where there are a lot of good discussions... but a lot of the past discussions are still somewhere in the The Pub and The Lounge. It would make searching for them easier than bookmarking say page fifteen, then twenty-four when I return to my computer to continue looking through the discussions.

I know it is probably just me asking for this!!! And if it is.. just ignore me!!!

Sometimes I like reading random stories, however I've noticed that when you select another random story if gives you a different story but in the same category as the story you just read. To avoid that, I have to go back to the home page and select random each time, to get stories in different categories. It would be nice if the stories where chosen randomly for you across all the categories not just the in the same category. Just a thought happy8

That's how I thought it would be done too. Gav wanted to have it so that if someone wanted a random *category* story, they could have that choice too, instead of perhaps a bdsm story or something they are no into popping up. You have to start at the home page each time and press the button I'm afraid.

That's how I thought it would be done too. Gav wanted to have it so that if someone wanted a random *category* story, they could have that choice too, instead of perhaps a bdsm story or something they are no into popping up. You have to start at the home page each time and press the button I'm afraid.

The main reason it was not randomised across categories was that had a high chance of appearing (there's more stories of that genre than any other). Someone who is offended by such topics might be in distress seeing all that . Saying that, this was implemented before we had category filtering, so maybe something we can add back in.

I can see the point of having a random *category*. Sometimes I get a story that I just cant get into and it's easy to hit the random button to retrieve another story. If the story randomly chosen was in a category I didn't like, I would hit the random button again, it would be easier that having to go back to the home page and quicker too. If that's the case, I'm not really bothered by it, just thought I'd find out about it and if it was 'fixable', Gav could add it to his list evil4

Is is possible for whenever I'm exchanging messages with someone that each new reply doesn't show up on my messages as a whole new message? Can multiple replies stay in the same spot? As it is now after a few replies the whole first page is really just one conversation. I realize it's easier to do chat or PM but sometimes when first "meeting" someone... inbox is the best/only option. Could possibly free up some space on the server too? Not sure about that though.

I have a request...for multiple reasons I could go into if asked, would it be too much trouble to have a "print" option on a story page?

I happen to know that several authors here are submitting stuff to places other than Lush, that I probably can't mention but actually pay money for stories...in some cases they request a physical paper print out to be mailed...

The only site I know that handles this really well is writing.com, which I think I can mention because it is not an erotic story site...and btw, Lush is a far nicer site...if you hit the "print" option on writing.com, it will print out with the title of the story in big, bold type...which looks sort of professional...
The problem with writing.com is they only allow ten story posts, unless you have a Premium (ie paid) membership...

If Lush could do something similar, I think it would be greatly appreciated...this way when some authors here start getting their stories in magazines and other print publications, they can point out how instrumental Gav was in furthering their career...

I would like to be able sort my mail by user, subject and date or even just be able search it. Often times, important messages are on page 52 while I'm on page 3,459. That makes for a lot of scrolling.

Not a bad idea. Your story would then never appear on any top lists though, but if that's not a problem, then I'm sure it could be accomodated.

I agree with sprite. I'd understand if there wouldn't be a 'non-erotic' category for stories, but it might offer another dimension to the whole top ten list. Seeing so many writers who are detail oriented makes me think that some very interesting stories could come about without the obligatory sex scene. Sometimes tension is the most erotic thing; the missed opportunities, and when two people reach a pinnacle in their relationship that sex might ruin everything.

Then again, I too am relatively new.

Another thing might be (if it isn't already there) a function to subscribe to threads on the forum. Thanks for listening blah5
