Where do I start? I wrote a trite comment on this because I needed to say something but genuinely didn't know what to say. Then Katherine came along and articulated that thought wonderfully...

I felt this, deeply. And I'm sitting here staring at the screen, maybe a bit overcome, trying to comment well and failing. But this was really good.

To me, that's what makes a poem an extra wee bit special. When it invokes a feeling that you've been there, you know this, you've lived this and you may have tried to bottle that feeling but failed and then along comes someone who just seems to get it and you read it and you think, yes!

Elliot manages to do that frequently. I have so many of his poems favourited. They're like little glass jars filled with stars and every so often I can peek inside and be a little dazzled.

Also, Sprite thinks I have a crush on him. I probably do, lol. I defy anyone to read this and not fall a little in love

*nods* she mumbles lines from his poems in her sleep. it's kind of cute, actually.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

It's ok, Sprite.... since I've pretty much always had a crush on both of you, it balances stuff out ??❤️

On a serious note, though, you guys are amazing, all the Lushies ? I feel at home here, have made some wonderful friends and have discovered some of the most talented writers. I'm beyond grateful for every one of you that have read my scribbles and all of you that I've become friends with. This is an amazing community that I'm proud to be a part of ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations Elliot! One of the very finest poets around! heart
Congratulations, Elliot! A truly superior poem.
Elliot, all your poetry is wonderful but this was extra magical.
This is a cool thing. I would never have read this otherwise and wow, what an amazing piece of art. Stunning. smile

I'd love it if you read my story for the Notorious Competition.

The Temptress of Tanner Street
