I saved it to my computer, then hit the upload here and it said it was in the wrong format.

If you grab images from wordpress / blogs, often Internet Explorer stupidly tries to save them as BMP's, and gives you no other choice. FireFox lets you save them as jpg / gif as they should be. Could be the reason.

In IE, if everytime you try and save images and it forces you to only have the one choice of file saving, ie bmp, try clearing your cache, that sometimes works. Dumb browser.

When I save, it doesn't ask me anything, just where to save it to.
Then when I try here I get the msg that only gif,jpg,jpeg and png files can me uploaded to the site.

What is the file extension when it's on your hard drive? I am guessing bmp.

Try this, Chef: right click the file, and go into Properties. See what is says next to Type of file.

Nic was right. It's a bmp. You'll have to convert it to a .jpg, using Paint or another image editor. Open Paint, open the image, go to File, and Save As. Highlight .jpg in the dropdown and save it as that.
