The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
I didn't take this one of the wave, but in 2010, we had a little snowfall (30") that drifted some. There is a '96 Chevy Blazer under there.

This was taken from my balcony. Only took about 40 shots to finally get this one!

These are what we get in the Midwest instead of the hurricanes.

Thanks! Adding this to my list of places to see before I die
Okay, so here's your chance to see a natural wonder of your own...

From midnight tonight (GMT) there is a HIGH possibility of being able to see the Northern Lights, due to sunstorms, for the next 48 hours!

So, here's hoping for some clear skies and some pretty colours...

I know it's something I'd like to see before I die...

Take a look at the link for more information...

Aurora Borealis

I've visited this lighthouse in St. Joseph, MI many time during the summer. This is what it looked like a few days ago during the natural wonder of the Polar Vortex we've been experiencing.

What the St. Joe lighthouse looks like in warmer months.

I sure hope you get to see it. I saw them a couple years ago when we visited Iceland. It truly is a spectacular sight!!

It's funny Nikki, when I was writing that post, I was totally thinking of you. I remember when you made that trip... God, doesn't time fly on Lush? It seems like only a month or two ago!!

So, I read in the news the other day that the earth was undergoing a geomagnetic storm caused by two strong solar flares and particle blasts that erupted from the Sun.

Now, while the media was all full of doom and gloom about how it could potentially cause disruption of GPS satellites, high frequency radio communications and power grid overloads and that sort of thing, one of the good things was that we might be able to see the Northern lights: (Wiki link to explain the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis))...

I spent a few hours, with my youngest, last night, driving around trying to find somewhere with not too much light pollution, so that I could show her, what I consider, to be one of the wonders of the world, and something that is on my bucket list.

We never saw them (although she claimed that she did) but we did have a good sing song in the car, so it was all good fun.

It got me thinking about really cool things that I have seen, natural things that made me stare open-mouthed at their beauty and I thought it might be nice to share some of our experiences here...

Here are a couple of mine.... (please add your own - tell us what happened, add pics or links if you can, if you have them...)

A halo around the moon

Noctilucent clouds - I've been lucky to see these on a few occasions...

Shooting Stars - I love these!!

So, what have YOU seen? What sticks in your mind?

Let's hear all about it!

Nice, that's cool, I only wish I actually saw it

The archipelago of St Kilda, the remotest part of the British Isles, lies 41 miles (66 kilometers) west of Benbecula in Scotland's Outer Hebrides.

Its islands with their exceptional cliffs and sea stacks form the most important seabird breeding station in north-west Europe. The evacuation of its native population in 1930 brought to a close an extraordinary story of survival.

Today, three organisations, The National Trust for Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and the MoD, work in partnership to further a continuing program of conservation and research on the islands to ensure the care and protection of this World Heritage Site.
