Now I hear they're coming back around again, asking for another $50 billion, I think it is. GM says it will go bankrupt by the end of March if they don't get it.
You know they have to be kinda pissed though. They're being asked to jump through hoops for their bail out money and the banks were just handed it no questions asked.
I heard that the prez wants to put a 500k cap on the CEO salaries. I say fuck that shit. Let them come out here in the real world an live on what I make a year. See how far that gets them.
Salary caps..... how about the bonuses? Prior and future
They don't live in a real world!
The government telling you how much you can make.
What country does that remind you of?
but then again, letting public(or are they private) owned companies ruin the lively hoods of thousands of people(with mismanagement) while they take more and more sounds a bit like the russians or germans. You work your ass off while I sit back and get richer and then I lay you off so you can go stand in the bread line. Who should squelch their wanton greed at at the expense of the poor worker.
As a matter of fact, I thought that's what unions were for. Doesn't look like they're doing their job either.
Yeah, it's quite a mess, Chef Sugar.
The problem with the whole lot is none of the actually seems to know what the term BUDGET means. I mean come on you go begging for taxpyer dollars to help you out then like AIG did you send them on a $400,000 trip? Give me a break. They keep doing stupi shit like that I say let them go under or tell them in plain English to clean up their act. Look at Chyrsler back in the 80s they almost went under once they got Lee Iaccoca in there they did borrow money key word here Borrow from the government and payed it back in half the ammount of time the government gave them. So it could be done again if they really wanted to.
It could but that would take some leadership, belt tightening and planning. Which would interfere with tee time at the country club and the trip to Tahiti.
That would be a crying shame. LOL Aren't they supposed to work first play later?
Not in their books. Which may have been cooked all these years. Wonder why no one saw their decline a year ago and said, "Hey! If we keep going like this we'll go down the sink!"
One problem I saw years ago, driving down the highway near one of the plants. They'd have full parking lots of new cars sitting, with sales real slow, but the plants were still making the cars. Because of the backlog, they'd eventually stop the line and temporarily lay people off for a while (with 90% sub-pay).
