Morning Lushies,

To all the lovely mommas, and to all the mamacitas too!

It’s been a hectic week so if you need me you’ll find me out by the beach, I may even take a little swim. Nothing to drink for me yet, I want to soak up the sun’s beautiful rays without any alcohol in my system.

… A few hours later …

Did somebody say football? I can’t resist, playing with balls - uhm scratch that… Playing ball is one of my favorite pastimes - hope you boys don’t mind if I join!

Ok, enough of that…

Someone mentioned I look like Kim Kardashian today… Do you agree?

-----

I’m going to help our cabana boy Dante work out. He needs to stay in top physical shape to be able to handle all the lush ladies.

After that I’m going to start the grill - who’s hungry?

I bought more than enough bathing suits this season and I’m ready to show off every single one of them!
Good call LushPrincess... I had a bit of a crazy Saturday night... I'm on water and rest this morning. Ouch!!

I'll just have some sparkling water with lime until I'm feeling better...

Then this afternoon, I think I'll head out for some snorkeling and enjoy the peaceful sights of the underwater landscape. There is nothing I love more than spending time in the ocean... it's one of my favourite pleasures when I get the opportunity...

And in fact, some nice music and inspiring video footage of what I saw on my swim might be in order. Thought you might appreciate this. I'll post the video below. She is a beautiful free dive swimmer... it's truly amazing to watch this 'professional mermaid'... especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
That sounds fabulous DD, may I join you?

By the way LushPrincess, yes... you do look a little like Kim Kardashian... only much more beautiful!

Wait... after that long swim, and now that my hangover is starting to pass... I'm starting to remember more of my wild night! Hmm... hey, weren't you that wild girl on the dance floor last night? Ahhh... it's all coming back to me now... Good times!

Oh no DD, I was a perfect Angel last night.

… Why do you have any evidence of me being naughty?

All I remember is I left the club with a bunch of singles… The rest is history.

Happy Mother's Day to any and all. You've got one of the hardest jobs in the world, and you're raising your kids the best way you know how.

To honor the great moms, the Wine Bar is giving them a free breakfast, and I hope you'll notice the Gordon Ramsay's Eggs Benedict on the menu.

The rest of you will have to pay, but I see Double-D and Xuani are working that casino pretty well. I think Mara crept into our casino vault, where we keep that huge square of cash.

Some of you are learning beach-football really well, and I could make all kinds of jokes about "touch-downs", "end zones", and "forward passes", but I won't.

I saw this guy playing football out there with you dolls, but then he disappeared after that. Where did he go? He had to pay his wine bill yet.

The warm granules of sand and a great sunset made me want a stroll on the beach...

...but I have a new captain for my boat, and she's a friend of TG.

I think I'll leave them alone, so they can "catch up" on things.

Hi, Tommi, and welcome to our Wine Bar. I hope you helped yourself to some fabulous champagne, on the house.

Anton said Frank is singing again, so I'm heading to our theater to hear some soulful crooning.

Kissing you dolls on the cheek, sweetly...
I bet you didn’t know us girls loved to play Rocco… I’m the “tight end” literally.

I’m on my way to the try outs, I’ve always dreamed about being an Oakland Raider’s cheerleader -- what do you guys think? Do I look the part?

You definitely look the part Mara! Good luck with those cheerleader tryouts... you'll be a natural!

I also think we should round up some girls and play! I know I'm game! Anyone else?...

I see Aphrodite has us covered for drinks for after the game! Thanks and welcome to the Lush Wine Bar... maybe you can referee!

Aprodite,welcome!

I see you came in with a bang and a bunch of friends… Hope you guys are enjoying the Lush Wine Bar! Here’s some Champagne on the house…

As for me, I came ready to enjoy the pool, it’s too damn hot in Arizona - and after having a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend this is the only way to unwind. I’ll take a bottled water to go Anton, thanks baby.

Anton always tells me how much he hates to see me go, but he loves to watch me leave.

Let’s break out the champagne, because I have an exciting announcement!

The brand new Lush Performing Arts Theatre has just opened adjacent to the Wine Bar. Isn’t it beautiful? This stage will be open around the clock, bringing a bit of culture and artistic aplomb to anyone that might be interested…

I have decided to become the unofficial Performing Arts Director (ooh, exciting title!), since I have some experience in this area already. Art inspires life, and in turn, life inspires art. I would like to invite fellow Lushies to share your favorite and most memorable pics and videos from the world of art, dance, opera, musical theatre, symphony, modern music, and ballet. Discussion and commentary on what has been shared is highly encouraged by all!

So grab your tickets, and let's start the show!

The first offering is one that is very near and dear to my heart. It is a piece from one my favourite contemporary dance icons, Terri Best, whose career spans over 25 years. This piece is called “Duet” and it won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance in 2008. I hope you enjoy it… (video post below).
Oh I love this idea DD, where can I sign up for classes? I’m all dressed up!

I absolutely love this video [posted below] Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love “The Nutcracker” --- DD, is that you?

I love the way she glides on stage, her petite body seems weightless. The grace of a dancer, specially a ballerina is something to be envied; always the good kind of envy of course.
Ah yes, I love the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy"... it is a favourite at Christmas, and I have danced a version of this part before...although certainly nothing along the lines of what the famed Bolshoi Ballet serves up. In my opinion, the Russians do know how to do it best when it comes to traditional ballet. The Bolshoi is really the heart and soul of Moscow (still dreaming of going there one day... *sigh*).

The other Ballet company in Russia is the Kirov-Mariinsky in St Petersburg. Isn't it beautiful. I love the architecture...

And since we're on the subject of Ballet... I cannot resist posting my favourite performance of all time. It's called The Dying Swan, performed by Ulyana Lopatkina, whom I believe to be the most relevant prima ballerina of today (and possibly of all time). At 5'9" tall, she is among the world's tallest ballerinas and her long lines and extensions are incredible. This piece was originally choreographed for famed ballerina Anna Pavlova, but I believe that nobody has ever danced this better than Ms. Lopatkina. This is one of the hardest ballet solos to do because it demands being on pointe for most of the dance... making it incredibly difficult technically. Aside from that, the emotion involved is unparalleled. This video makes me cry almost every time I watch it... It's without a doubt, one of the most moving pieces of dance I have ever seen. I can only dream of dancing like this... *sigh*... I hope you enjoy...
GDD, nice addition to the Resort! A performing arts center adds that touch of 'class' that may have been missing. Nice ballet too- I am embarassed to even call myself a dancer after watching that kind of skill. I'm flexible, but ballet dancers are unreal.

Well being an arts wing, it's only appropriate that we add some sculpture to the lobby- it's important that we make a great first impression on those entering, and preparing to soak in the artistry.

I tried to go with a theme, to tie the two pieces together, but I am not sure if that will be obvious to the everyday patrons. Maybe it will be our little secret to tell to our favorites.9YUjskdi9d8hohPk
That is a beautiful video, DD. She paints the picture not only with her feet but with the movements of her arms. WOW! Bravo bravo bravo!

Now let’s not forget the males, I love his jumps he practically flies! [video posted below] I had to google him, but since the first time I saw him I was mesmerized by his agility and poise.
Oh, I LOVE that Mara... I just swoon over the muscular definition of male ballet dancers! And they certainly CAN move! Those grande jetes are so impressive. What a wonderful addition to the theatre!

And Xuani thank you for adding those great sexy sculptural pieces to the main Lobby! It's perfect for the Lush Performing Art theatre! Very provocative and inspiring pieces for our patrons to gaze upon. In case they were uncertain as to how to end their night after an exciting night of theatre, this should certainly give them the appropriate reminders on the way out! Love it!

I thought I'd post something from another of my favourite artists, Emma Shapplin. She started as a neoclassical artist author and composer before moving into hard rock (which she found gave her more artistic freedom). Later she went back to her roots to synthesize the musical genres. This became a combination of archaic opera and modern trance and/or pop music. I hope Kyle stops by, because if he hasn't heard of her, I'm pretty sure he will appreciate her work since he enjoys trance music. The video I'm posting is her most popular commercial success "Spente le Stelle"... it's quite amazing, and the video is pretty cool too! Oakenfold used this piece later for one of his own masterful DJ creations. But here is the original (posted below).

I'm sure all will enjoy... she's a total hottie too!
