I just bought the woman in my life (long story there) a Valentine's Card. Just a simple normal sized card, no music, just some words on thick paper.

It was $8.95 !!!

What do you think? Should we boycott Hallmark?

Are you boycotting the gym?

Nobody is forcing you to buy a card. Use a little originality, and do something else.

Is there anything more unattractive to women then having a guy begrudgingly buy them a nine dollar card and then complain about it?

It just seems stupid to me to pay $9 for something that costs maybe a quarter to manufacture.

I am not a cheapskate, just practical. To me, the high cost of cards (relative to cost) is like the high price of medications.

There is just something unethical about charging so much for so little.
Maybe hit up DollarTree or Mexican dollar stores.

You can always create card too.

I love Cupids day, so I don't mind making things.

What would a puny cunt like you know about gyms other than giving blowjobs in the locker room?

Nesrm's last gasp - this is how he'll be remembered. so fitting. lol smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Its the thought that counts. If you love her buy it her. I have paid more for a card.
Judging from his avatar, I think he should just sit down and cover his brain...its obviously getting a draft and he can't think straight

That's just mean. OK. I think it is just silly to spend $9 on something that is just paper and a few words. However, when my woman wanted to remodel the kitchen, I didn't blink when it ran to $25,000. She got all the "bells and whistles' she wanted for the kitchen, it made sense to spend that kind of money.

Even if I won the lottery tomorrow, I would still balk at spending $9 for a simple card.

I also think about the "average Joe" . He's in a new relationship he has to buy the card, but because he was out of work for a month or two is behind in child support payments.
So dont buy the card....how about asking your SO what she would think a romantic gesture would be....if you have to come here to ask complete strangers, our opinion of buying the love of your life a nice card to let her know you were thinking of her on Valentines Day, then I think you have bigger problems than a $9 card

That’s still sweet but FYI “Hershey’s Kisses” 2 bags for $6

A moment on the lips but a lifetime on the hips ?

I think you were already supsended.

Good try though. It was refreshing to hear me called "soyboy." If you ever come to Vancouver, I can give you a few pointers.

I agree, Do something a little originial. Do it on the 13th. And no fucking red roses!
Valentine's day is just a made up holiday so Hallmark can sell cards. Give her the gift of cunnilingus! Or a rim job.

I'd love it if you read my story for the Notorious Competition.

Yes, there will be oral sex --- rim jobs seem disgusting.
i'd rather have a card over flowers (especially if they're generic red roses). i've saved almost every card i've received since i was eighteen. going through them a couple times a year brightens my day. as much as i love flowers - and i do - they just die. cards are tangible memories. and for goodness sake, add a personalized note!

Say. Her. Name.

Personally, I don't like cards. Waste of money. Particularly if my partner just bought a card because it's what is expected then complained about the price of it. Who says romance is dead...?
$8.95 for a card might be a lot but what was it attached to? A self made card with a poem would've been great.
