I went to the movies last weekend and watched "The Lightning Thief" and saw previews for Alice in Wonderland......it looks like it will be a good movie.
This movie will not hit the cinemas in Europe.

I love Tim Burton movies and this looks absolutely brilliant...

Here's one link which offers the explanation why the movie is not being shown in Europe:

I had to read that twice to be able to get past the misspelling and bad grammar. Apparently 7th-graders have been hired as staff writers- Journalism is truly a dying art (chuckles).

So they're taking a stand against quick DVD-release by refusing ALL revenue from the movie? Have fun with that, Odeon...let us know how it works out for you.
Yea Odeon are stupid

Anyway one of my uni lectureres (I'm a film student) went to the premiere last night/night before and she wasnt very impressed at all. Not to ruin it for anyone but apparently Alice is alot older than in the books and events aren't like the original story. Still really looking forward to it tho, I love Tim Burton!!

I thought I had heard that she was supposed to be older and getting ready to be married. That she didn't remember falling down the hole when she was a child. Or some such nonsense.

Yea thats what its about and there's some Jaberwoccy they have to kill but I thought it was gonna be the same as the first story like the Disney film. She said it was still good visually tho
Burtons films usually are..interesting visually.
its not supposed to be from the book, its her returning to wonderland, if anything it would perhaps be based off of Through The Looking Glass
I only have an odeon cinema in my town(grumbles)
Yep, Love this movie already. I'm glad it's a film 'based' on the books and in the same spirit.

That'll be why then. Still really looking forward to it, I love Tim Burton soo much!!
In the meantime Odeon came to an agreement with the studio but it's not just Odeon who refuses to show the movie. More cinema chains refuse due to the same reason.

And I also knew the movie wasn't going to be a book adaptation but something different. Still curious to see it though.

Tim Burton gets credit for so much that he didn't do. Coraline was created by Henry Selick, the man who directed Nightmare Before Christmas. The recent movie 9 only had his name attached to it to help sales as all he did was give a few suggestions to the director, however Burton is a genius, and I can't wait to see his next movie, the long awaited full length Frankenweenie. If you've ever seen his original, it's an amazing tribute to the original Frankenstein movie.

Come to think of it, better line up a sitter for the new Alice movie....I might actually get a night out! Woohoo!
