Some of his novels were turned into famous movies.
Pat Conroy was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up a military brat, mostly around the deep south. He graduated from the military college, The Citadel, which inspired much of his writing and his books The Lords of Discipline and The Boo.
He was one of my personal favorite authors. His exceptional talent will be missed.
