I know that 'movies will appear as room service on the bill' but I've always wondered if reception staff know if I've watched porn on my hotel television?
Has anyone worked in a hotel that can confirm whether or not they can?
Yes, hotel staff definitely knows what you watched and for how long you watched. I know this because when he was three, my oldest son accidentally managed to order a very explicit porn movie whilst his Mum was in the shower. I spent 45 minutes arguing with the staff that no, I had not ordered that movie, and they showed me a slip listing the movie title and how long the movie was played (I did manage to get my money back). So yes, they know.

One thing to mention as well, is that porn movies are generally more expensive than other titles.
Why don't you just fire up your iPad / laptop and wank away for free?
YES we do know - every paid for movie is logged for charging purposes, by title and length of view.
In saying that we rarely look at what is watched as so many people watch the porn shows and it is of little or no concern to us that people watch it. Our accounts dont show titles just "In room movie" but our log shows the actual movie by title.
Evidence that many man masturbate during the viewing is obvious from semen stains on carpets etc. Also quite a number of calls are made to reception regarding guests in adjoining rooms with the volume too loud or acting out the performances and being a little too boisterpous in their pleasures.
We also find a few porno DVD's left in players. We never attempt to forward them to the guest after they have left for obvious reasons.
