I have several large collections but one of the most interesting is my historical commemorative medal collection This is an original French medal from 1744 with Louis XV on the obverse.

Love Is Blind | Lush Stories - A poem of love and pain...

Well, there is the extensive collection of sex toys we have- in the neighborhood of 100? It could be more, we buy new ones to try out, and never seem to toss any of them, no matter how disappointing they are the first time.

I also inhetered a collection of match books and boxes from my dad when he passed away. I have roughly 350 from different clubs, diners, bars, and restaurants, some dating back to the post-war era.
Music. I had a vinyl collection at one time of about 1,200 45 RPM records, plus 750 LPs. I then recorded most onto cassettes so I could play them in my car. When I made the jump to CDs, I put the vinyl and cassettes away until I discovered analogue to digital conversion. After I made MP3s, I rented a truck and donated my vinyl, cassettes, turntable and cassette recorder to Goodwill. I still have my CDs, plus about 10,000 MP3s on a n external hard drive. I have about 600 CDs.
Unicorns. I have stuffed ones, figurines, prints, posters, a painting, two blankets, a table, jewelry, a Christmas ornament, and so many, many more. Even my cell phone case has a unicorn on it. Family and friends especially my son and my husband feed my habit (I mean collection.) My family and close friends swore Public Storage shot this commercial in my house (they didn't, but it was a running joke for a long time.)

I collect those stupid little snowglobe/water ball things. I think I have something like 400-odd now, from around the world. It started out with my grandmother bringing me them when I was little, and just snowballed (pun fully intended). Friends and relatives now actively seek out the tackiest ones they can find from wherever they are or are visiting. I do have some nice ones, and some rare ones (from World's Expositions and whatnot) but mostly, they're those plastic ones.
Want to spend some time wallowing in a Recommended Read? Pick one! Or two! Or seven!

Sperm. But it keeps disappearing from the case where I've collected it.

I really got the bug by having a family heirloom Civil War Enfield passed down to me. I've been lucky twice on word of mouth deals. My best luck has been talking with local gunshop owners. The South is especially loaded with old guns. I've also purchased over the internet. IBefore I knew better I spent too much for one at CollectorsFirearms. You're right, they are very expensive and the internet sites charge prime prices. I've still bought there though. When you want something bad enough, well... Everynow and then I just check out the internet sites like OldGuns, etc.

I almost forgot: http://www.cabelas.com/category/Antique-Firearms-Gun-Library/103799880.uts

I've found a couple of guns at Cabelas I really like.

I've been bird hunting in Alberta and after a bunch of paperwork, I was able to bring my shotgun with me, in a locked case, in baggage. Canada did a serious background check on us since we were bringing guns. One guy with a DUI more than 10 years before was denied and that was his only ever legal infraction. They wanted more documentation on my motorcycle traffic tickets but didn't deny me.

Don't you have some antique swords and other blades? Did you find some of those at IMA? I'll check that one out.

Yep. I have very few guns. Most of my collection is swords and knives. I have a lot of World war two knives. A lot of Japanese and some Nazi stuff that my grandpa picked up during the war. I like 19th century British stuff, but prices get a bit high when you go past that time period. My favorite stuff to collect was Black Devils memorabilia.

The Black Devils were a joint American-Canadian special forces unit during WW2 that generally did the most dangerous missions (like scaling the cliffs at Monte Casino) and suffered the highest casualty rates during the war. I have a bunch of knives, patches etc.

IMA is good for British and American stuff. They've even got civil war cannons and flint lock pistols. Items are way more expensive if you want them to actually fire. Personally I don't care if they fire or not. I like them purely for the historical significance.

Something tells me you like to collect compliments as well.....
Books, primarily. We have over three thousand, and now that we own a house I'm looking forward to building shelves and getting them out of boxes.

Also, erotic images. I have no idea how many, but every time I'm in a chat room a few more seem to get saved.

If the really old antique guns do fire, I am still wary, especially of the old blackpowder ones. But I do love collecting them. I love WWII stuff too. I have a M1 Garand. If just feels exciting and nostalgic when I shoot it, and has that very familiar sound.

I am familiar with The Black Devils. That is actually very cool to me, that combination American-Canadian special forces unit. North Americans united! And seriously, Canada has been an awesome ally and friend to the USA. And by far, most Canadians I've met and known, I have really liked them. As I always say here in the south, if you meet a tourist or transplant and they talk either like a yankee or similar but are very nice, cordial, and friendly, they are a Canadian. Not to knock yankees too much, I know some yankees who are awesome, too.
I collect books on oceanography and marine animals, which is quite extensive. I also enjoy collecting nutcrackers

Yeah! Kinda goes with the whole 'attention whore' thing!
To get this thread back on its moral compass....

I have a large collection of movies, probably 500, many of which I now have in the Cloud. I use to have a large collection of CDs, but my music is all in the cloud as well....I think a little over 9000 songs. I also have a large collection of stuffed animals that I have collected over the years. I quite often buy a stuffed animal to commemorate some place that I have visited or some event that I have seen. I also am collecting Presidential Biographies....the best way to learn US History is to read these biographies and it has been fascinating.
I have a collection of just over 1200 books. I can honestly say I am running out of room.
yes- i have everything Elvis recorded - except , of course his first recording which he gave to his mother .---is this unusual ?

I was bringing order to the chaos of my under garment drawers recently. After I had thinned them out a little I still had 37 bras, 61 panties, and a dozen garter belts

Is that 30.5 pairs?

I have a collection of airline tea spoons from pre 9/11 days when cattle class still got metal ones. Used to steal them whenever I flew. I have 12 and use them. I was quite pleased with my collection until I looked online one day and saw some fellow in Austria with over 1500.

Yes, I collect wooden men and women

These are astonishingly delicious to look at. I just love them.

My wife has been collecting cobalt blue for years. Sometimes known as Bristol blue.

I have a large collection of Egyptian figurines of god’s and goddesses, canonic jars, scarabs and art work plus over 150 books on the culture of ancient Egypt.

My collection is Lego.

One room of sorted parts,

one room of tubs of parts,

one room of new in the box,

and

one room of built technic and city sets.

Dog hair. Lots and lots.

Aftershave/Cologne. Absolutely love it. Once you've moved on from the generic, mass- appealing stuff, you realise it is, or can be, art. Creating a combination of scents that smell so amazing is art. And there are thousands of note combinations. im always on the hunt for something better than before. NGL, its a very costly hobby!

Polish pottery. My collection is small because it’s so expensive.

There are a few things I collect. First would be vintage Star Wars, GI Joe, and Transformers. Also the fast food drink glasses that were all the rage in 80s. I just finished The Smurfs and A New Hope recently. Apparently I also collect cats and am addicted to collecting songs on my playlist, if those count.

I have a good collection of shoes and hand bags. My husband has a huge collection of Hot Wheels.

2,500+ analog photographs (prints and negatives); 150,000+ of my own digital images

Kitchenware and signed Marci Gras posters.
