West Wing... or Barney Miller
All in the Family!
I've never really liked episodic shows and the laugh tracks really put me off. I call them "ShitComs" because I really don't need to be shown where to laugh or cry.
About the only one I ever watched consistently was "All in the Family". I loved all of the characters and situations they got into. They made us think about social situations that were and still are destroying our society. I think The entire cast did wonderful and believable work. That's my criteria for a good actor. If you can suspend my disbelief then you're doing good work. Anything else sucks big time.
Oh yeah, I was in lust with Sally Struthers too.
I posted on this thread before, but I just thought of another one. I'd like to see Angel come back after it's abrupt end with season 4.
Lots of good ones here! Firefly would be right up there, as well as Deadwood and the Sopranos! Also Fringe, but it definitely took a downturn towards the end. Loved the middle seasons best. Heroes also.
Another good show that was never marketed right was Life on NBC with Damien Lewis and Sarah Shahi. Really quirky, good show that never took off.
I really hate it when I get invested in a show that gets cancelled with no wrap up. Like the Sarah Conner chronicles!
Forgot about Life. It was a great show. I enjoy both of those actors now on Homeland and Persons of Interest.
Joan of Arcadia ... they cut that one off midstream, and I'd like to have seen how it would/should have ended.
It needs more then one. FIREFLY!!!!!!
The Sopranos....so that we could have James Gandolfini back! RIP
Ok, VERY old school here - Greatest American Hero! I mean come on. Silly, campy, whatever - it was fun and enjoyable.
Come visit The SpeakEasy , open on most Saturday nights around 930pm Central Standard Time. A place to relax, unwind, listen to music. Chat, Dance or just Enjoy. Its a classy joint!
Lewis, the Inspector Morse follow up series.
Blake's 7. Anyone remember that? The last episode in 1981 ended with a massive shootout, and all the good guys apparently being killed. Did anyone survive? The BBC know ... but they cancelled the show! Bastards.
Shows I want never to end: Game of Thrones and Adventure Time. And Doctor Who.
Sexual innuendo? I can keep it up all night.
I would have to say Firefly
Firefly, or Stargate Universe
Oh wow! This is difficult, there are so many great shows and even some that sucked that I would like to have back just for nostalgia, House M.D., Firefly, Stargate Universe, Terranova, Spartacus, Farscape, Leverage, Heroes, Fantasy Island, Love Boat, Saturday morning cartoons, Kung Fu theater, Dukes of Hazzard, A-Team, Starsky and Hutch, Automan, Too Close for Comfort, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, Night Court, The Rifleman, Benson, Alfred Hitchcock, Benny Hill... Uhm, I could go on and on... I am not a couch potato, honestly, ;) I just have a very good memory.
Do I really have to pick just one?!
You know, I'd love to see a one or two-off of Friends - I was watching it with the kids the other day - a wee catch up to see where they're all at would be good...
for me it absolutely has to be West Wing, although it would feel somewhat empty with the deaths of John Spencer and Ron Silver
If I had to pick one show it would have to be St. Elsewhere~
Believe in yourself and all things are possible
