Hey, just seeing if anyone has actually tried learning a language from Rosetta Stone, completed it and if it works. How long did it take and how much time and effort did you put in.

I want to learn Spanish(Latin America). I just got back from my trip to Mexico, and met some incredible beautiful women, but I couldn't clearly communicate with them . So humor and sarcasm were next to none, thank god I told them drinks were on me(all inclusive...lol)

Thanks, for dropping by, enjoy your day and take care!
Bro, I used to teach english here in Brasil and many of my clients were rosetta stone graduates...

Works wonders! one of the best self-taught language programs... However, nothing beats actuall classes with a teacher (that knows what he/she is doing).

Good luck!
Hey 1curiouscat - Thanks, that's awesome to hear. I took a quick look at the outlines, and it looks somewhat overwhelming. But I have have yet to break it down and see it all.

Did any of you're students tell you how long it took them.

I'm trying to get in contact with one of my old university adviser, that helped me. And see if I can go in and just take one class for fun, even though I've graduated.
Its all about dedication... the more of your time you invest the faster you go.
Well...I didn't exactly finish learning that language.
See, my dad and I were going through a phase where we wanted to learn Russian, so he bought the Rosetta Stone cassette, and we used it for a few weeks until school started for me. After that, we kind of quit...so yeah :/
But it works fairly well. I think if you end up going through with it, just stick through till the end. I wish I did that, cause it would've been cool to speak Russian smile
I'm going to take French in the fall at school, so I'm going to purchase the Rosetta Stone to familiarize myself with the basic concepts of the language. I used to teach myself German and I fell out of practice with that. My goal is to master several languages and visit the countries that speak those languages (French, German, Latin, Italian).

Thanks,

I tried downloading the bootlegged version on the net, its not the same. You actually need to buy it from the store and sign up for the online interaction. From the bootlegged version, all you get is the reading material and voices of people speaking. It doesn't really teach you much. I think Im going to wait till it goes on sale, or till my buddy who works at a BestBuy to get it for cheap. ahaha. And I do hope i stick with it and finish it.
