So, I'm hearing that LeBron, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade are going to play together in Miami?
Damn, that sways the balance of power in the East! Last Cleveland fan to give up on the Cavs after LeBron leaves, make sure and turn out the lights, ok?
I think that the Heat will be better off if they don't sign Lebron. I just don't see it working well. There's only one ball. Who gets it in the 4th quarter? Right now, Wade gets it, and has the option to dish to Bosh, which works for both players.
I think the Heat would be far better to add supporting players, rather than another superstar. Look at what happened with Boston. The three superstars won one championship, but Ray Allen just isn't the same as he used to be. He doesn't get to be the man with the ball in his hands, and his game, and confidence suffer because of that. The same thing will happen to one of Wade and Lebron if they are on the same team for an extended period of time.
I think Bosh and Wade with a good supporting cast could win a few championships. That combination works. Bosh is an excellent number two option, and a very good defender. As a Raptors fan, it is sad to see him go, but at the same time, I don't think the Raptors will be that much worse next year. Having a power forward as your number one scoring option just doesn't seem to work in the NBA. Especially without a good shooting supporting cast. If the Raptors can find a way to get rid of Hedo Turkoglu, and build their offence around a team concept rather than just giving it to Bosh and standing around, I think they will be fine. I expect Bargnani to get more looks, and he'll probably average 20 points this year.
On a related note, what do people think of Lebron having a one our special to make his announcement tonight? Is he milking this for all the attention he can get, or is there a valid reason for a one hour tv special?
It's very likely that LeBron will announce he's going to Miami tonight. Everything is pointing straight to it. If not, I see him going to the Knicks.
As much as I dislike Kobe, I think he's still the better player. Lebron may be the better athlete, but Kobe can actually shoot. The announcement of where Lebron is going is only going to take a minute, if that. What are they going to do for the other 47 minutes of non-commercial time?
James, Wade, & Bosh will kill the Heat. With the contracts they'll sign, the Heat won't be able to sign decent bench players. Oh well, I guess the East might have another Big 3.....assuming Miami is where James decides to go. I still have a hunch he'll stay in Cleveland.
Ugh. Why can't my Sixers get players like them?

If all three sign with Miami they will take a pay cut. All 3 have already declared they are fine with that. Think Miami also drafted D'Sean Butler and Dexter Pittman. We'll see how that goes. With Lebron's passing, Bosh's defending and Wade's scoring, that's a very lethal combo. I'm intrigued to see how this team does this season, assuming LeBron signs with Miami.
On a side note, Thunder and KD agreed on a 5 year extension worth 86mil. I'm excited about that!
Durant's a bad-ass, I love watching him play!
I'm on the fence about Lebron. I'd love it if he came here, but only if he could show he wants to be a team player. They're ALL hungry to win - it all depends on how hungry HE is. About that magic hour - who's paying for it? And what advertisers are signed up? I guarantee it's not gonna lose the network any moola...

The Warriors have a hopeful future. Stephon Curry was a good pick.
I hate the Lakers with a passion.. I do respect Kobe though. I can't believe Boston blew an 11 point lead in Game 7.
I think he was gonna hamstring any team he went to if there were other superstars involved. And if there weren't other superstars involved, then what's the big difference between going there and staying in Cleveland? Obviously he wasn't just going to move to New York for the sake of living there, and besides he'd have the same problem about the team around him with the Knicks or Nets that he does in Miami, with state income tax and crappier weather.
He would've been nuts to go to Chicago, being King James and all, living in MJ's shadow. He wins one ring there and he's still got 5 to go, and nothing ever happens without Jordan's name coming up in comparison.
It's true that Wade's kind of the alpha dog in Miami, and he's one of 3 stars there, but it's worked on teams before, so we'll see. Winning cures a lot, losing spreads cancer fast. I'm not sure it works either, but I don't blame him for GTFOing Cleveland like he did. The way he did it was ridiculous though.
I actually believe this will work. All 3 of them were wanting to take a pay cut just so they could all be on the same team. Everyone thought Boston's big 3 wasn't gonna work out and look what happened. They are at the end of their careers, but James, Wade and Bosh are in their prime. They will win a few championships together.
With that said, my money is on LA this year and Miami the next.
Ooh, can't wait to see more Kobe vs. Wade! I love intensity matchups! The Heat will need D-Wade when game seven comes around and LeBron doesn't make 'the leap' where he becomes unstoppable in serious playoff crunch time. I have a feeling he never really will.
