A few of my other single friends and I are going out together. We are going to probably going to do chinese or asian. We all love sushi.
pan-seared monkfish with a sage butter sauce over butternut squash puree and wilted arugala salad with candied pecans and berries. For dessert, strawberries on a bed of chantilly cream infused with grand marnier.

Well, the missus went to sleep early last night! After she did I set the dining room table, grabbed the flowers out of the car, built the fire in the fireplace(didn't start it)! When I get home will start oven to preheat before I go up to shower and shave. Will be serving Chicken cordon bleu over a bed of rice and green beans! Champayne cocktail(sugar cube and 2 or 3 drops of bitters, shot of B&B brandy and then fill the Flute with chilled champayne) 2 or 3 even and offer to sit in the Hot tub outside! Then who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steak, as that's what she likes
Sardine and turnip green casserole followed chitlin pot pie served with home brew and moonshine followed by sex in the mud. I am a true romantic at heart.
First Valentine not at a restaurant. I had asked two weeks before if it was OK.
So, this was the menu:
Wine Braised Lamb Shank
Caramelized Shallots n Vegetables
Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Panna Cotta.
Not much room for dessert, so I opted for an easy but deliciously small one.
Con:
One must obviously gather ingredient and prepare the meal.
Pro:
No getting ready for the outing.
No driving, no battling traffic and or parking if any.
No waiting to be seated (possibly).
Shaded room with relaxing, personal and quite candlelight dinner, no waiters.
Choose n Practice Happiness
Life is simple; we are what we eat and what we read. Talk is superfluous.
evening at home
rack of lamb
new potatoes with garlic butter
garden greens
wine
candles with a fire in our fireplace
that was our valentine dinner I made for my lover
I cooked chicken marsala with mushrooms, served over angel hair pasta, sauteed broccoli, served with a chilled chardonnay. Set the formal dining room table with our finest china and crystal (wedding presents), candlelight, one red rose in a vase. I wore a jacket and white dress shirt (no tie). She worse a short red, low cut, backless cocktail dress. I put on Barry White music to play softly in the background.
I had a bowl of cold cereal, and was content.
