Question about nasal accents in the USA?

Hi guys.

I just wanted to ask if nasal accents are common in the East Coast of the USA.

I mean nasal accents like Jwow or Sam from Jersey Shore...I thought it was just the way they talked (I can´t stand jwow, by the way, each time I hear her voice I want to puke), but I detect that same nasal trait in a lot of movies, especially in New York/ Boston movies.

How do they manage to do this nasal stuff? Do they do it deliverately? What's going on?

It is actually a genetic trait dating back to the industrial revolution when there was little or no regard for worker safety.
Certain chemicals inhaled by the males caused irreversible fetal changes that were passed along to future generations.

It's a shame, I really liked Jersey Shore, but I stopped watching it because I could not stand the way they talk...and the birds arent even hot, working out all they long they look like men on steroids. Life's tough...but as long the USA has California and Miami, there's still hope.

Haven't made it to Miami yet, except for the airport, but I second the opinion that California is holding up its end of the deal in terms of hot guys and girls. ;) I like Jersey Shore though, I have a lot of fun watching that when I actually remember to record and watch it.

I followed season 1 in Jersey , and season 2 in Miami. I found season 2 just the same old stuff, the only "interesting" event was that anonymous letter Jwow and Snooki wrote to Sam to warn her about her boyfriend making out with many girls behind her back every night.

They were playing the "good friends", and 5 minutes later Jwow was punching Sam on the face...I felt so sick about those airheads, had to stop watching it...Jwow's disgusting nasal accent and fake ugly tits haunt my nightmares since then.


And I was a bit dissapointed by Vince, he seemed like a nice guy but turned out to be a sneeky rat kissings Jwow's ass.

No kidding right? If you can't count on a media-whoring, struggling actor on a reality show to be a stand-up guy, who the hell CAN you count on in life?

I know it's terrible, but I still love it. Even J-Wow's awful titties makes me giggle.
