what is the best free way to resize pictures

There are many variables to your question.

1 - Mac or PC?
2 - Image for upload or existing web link?
3 - Do you need to resize an existing image or are you looking to crop it?

Answers to these will help me give you some ideas.

you can resize photos at blibs.com (it's free and easy and you can crop there too.)

(unless you have paint shop pro or something like that, you can use that too.)

I have Windows 7. All I do is download the pic to a folder, select it, right click on it, open with Paint, and then use the simple resizing gadget in there. You can shrink or expand, with two or three clicks. Paint can actually do all kinds of things with pics, if you figure out the interface. If I can do it - and I'm a techno retard - anyone can do it. smile

Photoshop allows you do do any manipulation; size, resolution, clipping, etc.

I use irfanview. It's free and easy to use, and very versatile. You can resize, crop, change the resolution, and remove exif data. (Be sure you remove all personal exif data before you post or send any naughty photos!)
