How do you know? Maybe they read it and move on. Not everyone feels the need to talk about it.

At the risk of offending anyone who has posted their poems... I no longer bother reading the poems on the site cause by far the vast majority of what's posted here is just not very good. People either try too hard to fit some form that they preconceive before they start writing, or they try too hard to be formless and free.

Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against poetry. A well-written poem is a thing of absolute beauty. I read a fair bit of poetry, and have written a lot of it myself, but there is not much worse in the world of art than bad poetry.

What Rocco said I write poems myself yeah I may not be the best writer but we are here to have fun and if you don't like it that's fine but don't knock others for trying to write. It is all in fun here.

Never said it wasn't meant to be or shouldn't be fun, and never set out to deliberately hurt feelings. But when people post stuff that isn't great, why shouldn't they be told? And like I said, I stopped reading the stuff. I have never singled out anyone who posted a piece of crap, and I don't intend to. But why should I be prevented from voicing an honest opinion? You don't need to agree with me - but neither should you expect me to happily smile and say "Wow, Anonymouslushpoet, that's really good. Thanks for posting that! heart

When I read stories that I enjoy, I tell the author. When I see something that I think has potential to be good, but I can identify an opportunity to improve it, I also tell the author. When I see something that's crap, I click away from it. I don't PM anyone and say "Wow, man, that was shit!" I don't comment on stories and say "Pure errant douchebaggery... what are YOU writing for?!?!?"

As far as insulting people, if anyone is seriously hurt by the unsubstantiated opinion of some unknown guy who types out from behind a cartoon pirate and goes by a made-up random conglomeration of letters as a name, then they really should be seeking more qualified help than an adult discussion forum.
