What is love to you? How do you know when you are in love?
Love is a myth, like santa or the easter bunny. In the beginning it's all exciting and beautiful but then, one day, you grow up and realize that it was just some jackass in a nice suit the entire time.
the most famous poets, writers and philosophers have had trouble defining love...
I think there are three kinds of love:Heart,Mind &Physical.
When you connect with someone on all three levels then that is true love though it is possible to just connect on 1 or 2 of those but these lead to bad breakups because they aren't fufilling all your needs...also realising that after the initial phase of butterflies in stomach, romantic gestures, endless shagging and staying up all night talking that you need to work on it most of the time...
Love means 'trying not to change someone because you fell in love with them because of their personality quirks and habits...

oh and letting him be in charge of the remote *giggle*
Sorry Birdie, been there had that.
Now after 23 years, I can say it's love.

Honestly, because I'm not saying with my dick.

There's a spot on her upper leg, that when I am down and tired, I grap hold and it gives me strength.
To see her real smile makes my day. To sit and have coffee with her it all I want.
Everything else is just topping.

I miss her when she is gone

Batman
I am happy to hear that you found your unicorn
Birdie, I didn't find my Unicorn.
She found me when I stopped looking.

I stopped chasing and got caught.

Love is like emotion on a top...it spins and spins, until it stops. Then it falls over, and rust.
Its when you fantasise about spending your life with someone, rather than just shagging them.
Its when someone completes you. you cant imagine being without them. they are your best friend, your confidant and your everything.

you can be completely yourself with them. the passion, lust and want is there, even after all the years..... tho it has changed and become something else. you trust them and they you.

it is not easy to find, true love is very elusive....

Well said, I think, Lorzy.

The is a great book on this by C. S. Lewis called "The Four Loves."
There are many, many others.

Yes, it is hard to bring to words but that does not mean it is impossible to bring to word. I do not like to use that word much anymore because I want it to be undeniably properly used---which it is not always.
Yes, it also highlights problems that are already there. We often think love puts them there but they are there, and loving someone brings them to the surface.
Of course, life hurts. Like R. E. M. sings, "Everybody hurts some time."
My love helps me overcome that for brief moments and that is a blessing.
