I read in the WSJ today that Apple fired a long-time executive after he posted on Tik-Tok. On Tik-Tok an off-camera voice asked what he did for a living, he replied (and I'm paraphrasing)"I play golf, drive nice cars and fondle big-breasted women." His reply mimicked a movie quote.

He made the video on his own time, and he did not identify himself as an Apple employee. According to the article, he has no history of inappropriate behavior and has helped negotiate some of Apple's largest deals.

Apple fired him.

Opinions?

So strictly speaking I’m for firing every corporate entity there is. Average work week for a corporate board member is something like 14 hours. In a survey of a few thousand board member it was found that 85% of their time is spent on their own pay packages. Their only real job is to try and be a public face for their business and this guy messed that up royally.

Don’t cry for him, he’ll have a multimillion dollar golden parachute to dry his tears.
