While my guitar gently weeps
another one I like just because of where it came from is Act Naturally. Ringo sang lead vocal. Its an old country song that the beatles did.
The Long and Winding Road
"Yesterday", as I age it seems to have so much meaning. Your life changes, you lose those you love, you have problems. I find myself thinking of yesterday more and more. Of course I am old enough, barely, to remember them on the Ed Sullivan Show,
The Monkees were a far better band. The beatles quit in 1970. The monkees are still at it after 50+ YEARS.
Favorite beatles song might be "And I Love Her"
Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?
So many great ones. The noise and heaviness of Helter Skelter foreshadowed so much of the music I love (punk, metal, noise-rock, etc.). Similarly, Tomorrow Never Knows, pretty much invented Electronic Dance Music. Across the Universe has some of the most poetic lyrics of any Beatles song, but so does Eleanor Rigby (though none of the Beatles actually played any instruments on that song). There's an album's worth of musical ideas in Strawberry Fields alone, and I also really like Ringo's drumming on that one.
But I was listening to Abbey Road the other day, and the track that stood out to me (this time) was Carry That Weight - It's really kind of a filler-piece, but it got me thinking about the things we hang on to and what it means to let go.
Don't believe everything that you read.
Something. Mine has changed over the years, as I have been a fan and scholar, so to speak, forever...but Something by George has to be it.

it depends on my mood. Today it would be The Long And Winding Road
Not a big fan but Twist and Shout
Let It Be. I'm very little about lyrics or The Story of a song and very MUCH about The Music. The way the musical sounds, which includes Paul's vocals flow, makes me turn the volume up.
Let It Be
Whisper words of wisdom, Let it be.
My favorite is Hey Jude
Brings back some great memories
Sorry impossible for me to choose one... Yesterday, Hey Jude, Let It Be, Eleanor Rigby.
You can read that song on so many levels. I'm sure there have been PHD thesis written about the significance of the lyrics?
