I think it was a move to bring in something new. People were probably getting tired of blowjobs and vaginal sex. They needed something to sell more videos and bring in a larger audience. Just my humble opinion.

I can remember seeing it in movies from the mid 70's. Since "Deep Throat" was the groundbreaking movie in modern porn, I'm guessing that Anal Sex started to be included some time after that.
