I met Michael Jackson, clear back when he was only in his teens. I actually had lunch with him, at the Detroiter Truck Stop in Detroit Michigan when they were working on his bus. We sat and talked for about an hour, I think he did that because while we were eating, I really didn't know who he was, I think that made him want to talk more. After we said good bye, everyone came to me and asked me lots of questions, I was surely shocked when I found out who he was. A moment in time, I will never forget.

Most famous I ever met? Well - lessee - as a high school band musician, I played for and was introduced to three presidents (although they weren't president at the time) - Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon.
As a Navy musician, I had a phone conversation with Admiral Tom Moorer, after I played Roast Beef of Old England on fife for him. He asked me to say hi to my dad, whom he knew from Westinghouse's Nuclear Instrumentation Division; and I played a concert under the baton of Arthur Feidler in 1976, after which he invited me to audition for the utility flute/piccolo chair with Boston Symphony.
I played for about six months at a club where Blaze Starr was part owner, and danced a few times. Shared drinks with her and the rest of the dancers and musicians between shows.
I suppose all those "count" as meetings, but the one I think is more important to me was the time I went to a blues club in Nashville. Turned out, it was jointly owned by "Boots" Randolph and Chet Adkins. "Boots" was playing that night, and between sets, we got to talking. So, after the gig, I went to his house where we sat around and drank Jack Daniels and played tenor sax duets together for a couple of hours. I have always considered that as having had a music lesson from him, because he said so many things about playing and performing that I have remembered since.

I'm sure there are more, but it's 3am and I'm sleepy. Another time I'll post the famous people I've actually hung out with.
I used to travel a lot on airplanes and would see famous people in airports, but can't claim to have met any of them. I saw Ted Danson in the Phoenix airport, and also Rob Reiner. I was on a plane with Alec Baldwin one time from Chicago to Syracuse.
Interesting story: I was sitting waiting for the plane reading a Tom Clancy novel. This was shortly after "The Hunt for Red October" movie came out. Alec Baldwin (the original Jack Ryan) came and sat down about 5 chairs away from me. I looked at him and thought I recognized him, but then chalked it up to the fact that I was reading a Tom Clancy novel. A young woman came and sat between us. He was wearing sunglasses. At one point, he turned to her and pushed his sunglasses down on his nose to ask her to watch his bag while he went to get some popcorn. I have never seen anyone turn into a pool of warm pudding so fast. She literally swooned. I thought she was going to melt and slide right off the chair onto the floor.
He offered her some popcorn when he came back - her hand was shaking so hard, I thought she would drop the box of popcorn. In his defense, he had the bluest eyes I have ever seen. When he pushed his sunglasses down, it was like two blue searchlights turned on.

Geert Wilders, Dutch far-right/populist politician (and a big influence to Oslo terrorist Anders Behring Breivik), had a meeting at the company I used to work for. It was probably around 2006.

Carl Elliott, a former United States Congressman from Jasper, Alabama, was honored for his participation in the passage of the historic National Defense Education Act of 1958, which made a college education accessible to all, regardless of race or economic status. In 1990, Elliott received new recognition of his achievements when he became the first recipient of the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.
I worked on his last political reelection campaign as a volunteer that drove to small community and people's homes to talk and chat with them. I had a 15 minute film to set up and show proir to his arrival and his meeting and addressing the people. I would take it down, pack up and hit road to next home., location, meeting. I was honored top be a part of his kast campaign for reelection even though he lost. His principles were strong and correct as to equality in elections, dedication and rights for all. In 1960's Alabama, this was not a popular theme. I agreed with him and supported that even up to this day. I never was a bigot or believed in segregation of rights for anyone. He was a man ahead of hios time.
A determined person with perseverance can overcome many obstacles. They can, many times, perform better than those who are more intelligent, stronger and with better finances by determination and perseverance
