I heard this on CNN today. The experts are saying to remember that everyone is looking you up on the net now. Employers, insurance people, everyone. So don't put it out there is you don't want it seen. That includes Facebook, MySpace, etc.
Even with the private function, there is a backdoor for employers and what not can see your pictures to try and prove that you were doing something else.

I read a story last night about a college student that had posted a photo on his Facebook of himself holding up a beer at a party. One of his "friends" turned out to be an undercover cop. They called him down to the station, showed him the photo, and gave him a $200+ citation for underage drinking.
And they still try to sell us the idea, that its still a 'Free Country' I think not anymore!
