I guess my annoyance are the one letter or one word replies.
k
ok
yea
sure
It's annoying when you type or text something out to get a valid response and all you get is one of the above.
Yeah but it's not my fault
"No offence but.........." and then the person proceeds to offend and upset you. Saying no offence does not make the statement any less offensive.
mind your head - people only say it after you've hurt yourself.
watch your step - again only said after you've already tripped.
Got a flat tire huh? (no I just like to rotate them along the side of the highway)
"I know, right?" It gets me every time. What an empty way to express shared agreement.
"My bad" I had to ask what this meant. I still don't quite understand it but it's annoying.
“You're intimidating”
What does that even mean?? This has been said just one too many times..
Him: I can see guys being really bothered by that. It's hard to feel like a man around you.
Me: Seems to me that feeling like a man is something that's your job, not my job. If you don't feel like a man, it's really got nothing to do with me. That's obviously a problem you had before.
Him: Well, you're supposed to be making me feel good about myself right now, you know, complimenting me...(laughing uneasily)
Me: (not laughing, looking at him thoughtfully): Really? So you think my job, when I don't even know you, is to make you feel good about yourself and blow up your ego? I’ve had a pretty hard life and have worked hard to get where I am at so it's not really on my list to pamper some dude who doesn't feel like a man and who wants me to fix that. That's kind of a lot to ask, you know.
Alyssa,
As a feminist man, it sounds like to me that this guy is stuck in a paternalistic view of women and their "role" as caregivers. It is the 21st century and there may still be a few glass ceilings, but women have many more options open to them than in the "good old days". Men can either adapt and accept that women are their equals, or be "intimidated" into obsolescence. He should be forced to listen to "I am Woman" by Helen Reddy in an endless loop. It sounds like you don't need to waste any more time on this MCP than you already have.
I agree with all gypsygyrl has to say, however, for me is it WHATEVER
"God only gives you as much as He knows you can handle." I used to get that a lot. Whenever someone says that I want to kick them in the head.
"Put your dick away, your drunk". Sheesh people live a little.
Here in the south, ".. a couple of three minutes." WTH?
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.
Keep up the good work. I don't know why but it grates on me.
"Calm down." I try like hell not to say it to someone I am trying to get to calm down.
i hate it when people say "mind your head" its almost always said after you have hit your head.
