If so , can you offer any advice please?
I have a lovely friend who is visiting your city soon on business. He's straight, married and 'safe!' Any suggestions for venues to liven up his evenings? Better still, any offers of a tour guide - that said, you'd have to put up with his English accent !!
Thanks for reading. X
How long is he going to be there? I might have a few suggestions that a friend gave me yesterday or Friday.
Things to see and do in Atlanta:
Downtown
The World of Coca-Cola
• Underground Atlanta (shops, restaurants & bars close to the World of Coke)
• The CNN Center / World Congress Center area
• The Georgia Aquarium (World's Largest Aquarium
Grant Park Cyclorama (Civil War Museum)
• The Atlanta Zoo
• The Atlanta History Center
• The High Museum of Art
• must eat at The Varsity
• The Cheetah Lounge (great high end strip club just down from the Varsity on Spring Street, movie star/super model looking dancers. They get fully nude!) Kind of expensive. or The Pink Pony in North Druid Hills, not quite as classy as the Cheetah but raw raunchy fun & safe.
If anything is playing, The Fox Theatre, for Broadway musicals, concerts, plays.
If he likes rock music he should check to see who is in concert at The Tabernacle
• The Little 5 Points/Virginia Highlands area for great restaurants, bars, art shops, etc. - counter culture
• Buckead & Lenox
Lenox Square is the oldest mall in the south, very well kept up, a great place to people watch. you see everything, really international customers, lots of tattoos, interesting people of all classes.
Also Phipps Plaza , a high end mall. Movie cinemas at both malls
• Restaurants in Buckhead
Houston's (across the street from Lenox)
Atlanta Fish market
The Cheesecake factory
Bone's
Other great places to eat:
Mary Mac’s
Blue Ridge Grill
South City Kitchen
Watershed
Bars & Clubs"
• Manuel's Tavern (an old Atlanta classic, very liberal politics, famous Democrat politicians hang out there.)
• Central City tavern
• Fado Irish Pub
• Sanctuary - dance/party club in Buckhead
• Dante's Down the Hatch (jazz & blues club)
• Beluga Martini Bar (in Buckhead)
• Cellar 56 (in Buckhead)
Buckhead is the upscale financial district and where many of the best bars & restaurants are. It is north of downtown.
Buckhead is just the next spot going north.
Virginia Highlands borders Midtown to the east.
Downtown dies down at night except for the World of Coke and Underground Atlanta.
