Willy DeVille died last Thursday night. Rest in peace, Willy, thanks for the music.
Hey Gypsymoth, great add!

Saw him live at The El Mocambo in Toronto decades ago.

Sad to hear he died on Thursday.

Here's the album version:

Oberon, thanks, yes, his death is a huge loss.

You saw him at the El Macambo???????? Good for you. I saw him in 2006 at the Jazz Festival in Vienne, France. It was great, but I know the El Macambo, so son of a gun, I have no doubt that was a fabulous performance. I saw Tom Waits there in 1975.
Actually, Gypsymoth, he spent a good 10 minutes haranguing a local music reviewer for giving a bad review to his previous night's performance and demanding to know if he was in the audience.
But he played a tight couple of sets, even playing 'Cadillac Walk' - which had just come out, twice.
I know he was popular in France, Vienne must have been a great Festival

The Tom Waits show must have been great.
Here's his appearance on: 'Fernwood Tonight' -

So I say, “Live and let live.” That’s my motto. “Live and let live.” Anyone who can’t go along with that, take him outside and shoot the motherfucker. It’s a simple philosophy, but it’s always worked in our family. George Carlin
