Chase, I'll click your flame on.
When can a president pass a bill or spend money without the house and confress approving it. So when Bush made the national debt go to 10 Tillion, it was congress and the house passing it along - with past presidents. There has not - my opinion since Jimmy Carter has there been an honest pres. And he was a dem. And senior Bush - my hat off to him also. But the last 10 pres - C- grades.
Chase - you say it better. Rock on.

And keep your head down - but High.
Speaking as a soldier, I am in no favor of this new President, but I would hope that all citizens stand behind him. he is our leader now, and our life is in his hands. he has our best interests at heart, and he will see his plans through until the end. now don't think I wanted him to win, it would've been an honor to servew under John McCain, but America voted otherwise. it doesn't matter his skin color, heritage, or religous beliefs. if you can put your trust in this great country, then you should know that your trust is also in the people, and they voted him in. Come doom or prosperity, we will survive.
Born to serve...he is not my president, or anyone else's until noon on 20 January. We have two plus months left to kick more butt and take more detainees and he needs to keep out of it, and respect the laws and not arrange any meetings or communications with any foreign leaders until the current CinC has passed the torch.
I wish my faith in the American electorate was as sound as yours. I see people who are so blinded by personal small niche interests, single point here or there, or vote as they do because it is tradition that the best interest of the nation takes the lowest precedence when they come to choose. This is what the Dims bank on, and thus their promise to everyman, a chicken in the pot, extended welfare, save the snail darter, fully funded birth control through abortions, stem cell research, gays, immigration, Kyoto, fear of war, old age benefits..... The federal govt is there for the defense of our borders, to mint money, and regulate interstate commerce, with perhaps one or two other things. The rest is lures and much of which the federal govt has no business in....
I received this today:
There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.
In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat; you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms - just a little at a time.
One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free Lunch! A politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do yourself.
If you see all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!
In this 'very important' election year, listen closely to what the candidates are promising you - just maybe you will be able to tell who is about to slam the gate on America .
'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.' - Thomas Jefferson
Still want a larger government with more hand-outs and entitlement programs???
Not my words - just my thoughts as well.

Very good point about the wrong class.

Chase is my new hero! My dad told me several years ago that we were not being told the truth by the liberal media. I knew that in part, but the amount of truth that gets squelched by the media is incredible!
Our nation just elected a man who has refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the very country he wanted to lead.
I came from a state (Louisiana) that made national headlines when an indicted governor was running against a racist. I picked the felon over the racist, because haters never help anyone. And his (David Duke's) sex book wasn't that big of a seller. Hee Hee!
Even in the absence of great candidates, as in this election, you take the lesser of two evils. McCain might be a bit wishy-washy, but at least he's patriotic.
He shot himself in the foot, though, by stating during the primaries that he supported Bush 90% of the time. His words came back to haunt him, the ad replaying those words being the most effective device against his election.
Oddly enough, his running mate, Palin, had the highest security level of all the candidates involved. She was in a circle of communication involving our country's military that neither Obama, Biden, or McCain has ever stepped into. That doesn't get mentioned when it comes to talks on national security (what if McCain dies?).
On the other side, the vice-president-lect is a man that Democratic voters have been rejecting as a presidential candidate for sixteen years. Overwhelmingly! And yet he was voted in as the number two man of our country. They forget so easily. Palin may have been a rookie, a lamb among wolves, but at least she has a stronger background to her than Biden.
