Do you ask, can I taste it?

How about the way we smell. Attractions are formed in many ways. Are the physical attributes the main reason for attraction? Do you notice? Can you smell it? What if you don’t like the way he or she smells? Dose his cologne stink? Dose she wear to much perfume? How do our scents mix together?
Do you want to hold your breath until the awfulness is gone or do you ask, can I taste it?
Torture the data long enough and they will confess to anything.
There was this interesting study that looked at how scent forms attraction.

They had women smell different t-shirts worn by a variety of different men, and found that the smells they preferred were from men who had different immune systems from theirs (the genes are expressed by body odor). The suggested reason is that women prefer a mate with a different immune system because it will give her healthier offspring and reduce recessive disease traits.

Of course this whole 'smell theory' only works for women who are not on the birth control pill.

I dated a guy who told me about this study and had heard somewhere that a woman meeting a man while on the pill, may not find him as attractive once she is off the pill because of this smell theory. Actually it might make a little sense for you guys out there who claim you can't get laid as much after getting married...LOL

But its an interesting theory!

For me... on a more conscious level... I'm very scent-oriented. If a smell turns me off (whether its B.O. or bad cologne, I'm outta there)... Can't help it. I'm all about the good smells. Even my Golden Retriever has three kinds of "scented dog sprays"...

And in terms of colognes on guys... my strongest preferences are something clean/fresh or woody/earthy...

And just a reminder to the guys out there... if you think you might be bringing a girl back to your place... Wash your sheets please.... Yes, we do notice...
My wife is very smell oriented. If I've been working outside, she loves how my skin smells of the sun. She can smell a cologne out of the bottle that she likes, but when I wear it she may not like it. There's something going on with the smell of each other smile
Yes! Smell is such a big thing with me. I dont think I could ever be with a man that had bad BO...

I know that some men are known for stealing undies, Ive stolen a few button down shirts that smell Divine from my ex
Smell maybe not, and surely not BO, maybe not cologne or perfume either. But the natural scent of humans.

There have been several studies that indicate the when we come across the right scent will have little control over the attraction.

Could that explain some of the people that have ended up in my bed?
-this could explain it : )

I agree smell and aroma can be sexual clues. a clean and fresh smell in a bedroom can be inviting. a sexy perfume that is not overpowering is good too.
But, I'd rather smell a woman's aroma over her perfume anytime.
A woman's hair (on her head for those wondering) is the best. It's not so strong that other people in the room can smell it, but it's strong enough for the man (or woman) sitting next to her to catch the aroma. Perfume is nice, but it's not everything. Usually, a woman's shampoo is a fresh/clean smell and is more likely to be attractive and comforting rather than risking something that could be a turn off. A subtle hint of what lies beneath as well.

Same goes for men. Selecting the right deodorant (or body cleaning products) is all you should need. Being, looking, and smelling clean, in lieu of a fragrance, can often get you more compliments than anything else. Special occasions call for special measures, such as cologne. Careful not to spray the cologne on you. Spray three times into the air in front of you and walk through the cloud of cologne. That is plenty! LOL.
i am so into smells, i associate smells and memories... the way a woman smells always stays with me... i can still smell the last woman i cared about...her scent is still in my nose. so yes it is important to me. one thing i do i take a deep breath at the neck taking the scent in... committing it to memory.
smell is very important, no excuse for bo these days, my lady wears Paris sooooooooooooooooooooo sexy
Smells are important to me. I can smell cheap perfume a block away and wonder why they have to marinate in it. What are they hiding? You're smell should only be in your personal space, not mine until I come into your personal space. Then subtle not strong.
If it smells bad I don't taste....luckily my lady tastes just fine
sometimes I ask but most of the time I just taste before she can say anything....
I don't like strong pungent, pine, bitter scent of men's cologne yuk! I do love the smell of a freshly washed body with a spray of deodorant and snuggling up to a man when his clothes smell nice of soap powder mmmmmmm.
