The American economy didn't falter a burp when that den of thieves at Enron imploded. Several thousand people lost their jobs, but the entire company was fucking manipulating the US energy market.

They caused the gawddamned energy crisis in California in 2000 with the rolling brownouts, for fuck's sakes.

They went tits up and the world was better off for it.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
BP has to take full fiscal responsibility for this no matter what happens to them. This will totally ruin se louisiana's economy. The fishing and citrus will both be ruined by this. The marsh and coast line will never comeback in this lifetime and many other industries like tourism and resturant will be gratly affected, maybe to the point of bankruptcy. BP made this mess by not having any type of contingency in case something like this happened. But i seriously doubt that they will be made to pay becaus again Louisiana and in a big part Miss. dont count we arent important until you want us. When the culture, music, and food is gone what then. We just want to be respected. You know they were arresting people for taking pictures how crazy is that aside from illegal. Sorry for for spewing venom but cant help it and thank you LadyX for thinking this to be important. I appreciate that.

What an eye-opening video. The National Guard and BP didn't put a stop to this one!

Damn, what a heartbreaker this is, and it gets worse every second. Saw that some people are suing the federal government and British Petroleum for access to the beaches- I wish them maximum publicity and the best of luck, fighting two groups that don't want anybody getting the access they need to publicize the mess any further.

Yep, beating a dead horse already. When did Katrina get boring for you, halfway through the levee collapse?

That's even more funny.

You know, shit happens. That's all I have to say on this matter.

We can end the debate now. BP have said theyll throw money at it until its fixed. Thats OK then. No lesson to be learnt when you have an endless wallet.

of course! After all, they have to make room for those new permits they are still issuing, probably without the same checklist of approvals that this one avoided.
Ya know...
I'm no genius, but isn't an oil well, well...a well? As I recall half the trouble with wells is keeping them open, just like a tunnel or a mine shaft. Wouldn't it be completely feasible to detonate charges around the well to collapse the shaft and seal or at least slow the leak?

Maybe that would just make maters worse by creating fissures and distributing the area over which oil seeps out, but if it slows the rate from flowing to seeping that is a step in the right direction isn't it?

The difficulty they have now is to get material down to plug the leak, why not use what is there?

Of course this would be a quick solution and BP wouldn't be allowed to DRILL TWO ADDITIONAL WELLS (RELIEF WELLS) where they weren't able to get permits for new drilling.

$.02
actually, they are drilling a new one now, to be done in August- a permanent relief well. And as far as new permits go- right or wrong- they keep giving them even now. I only hope they aren't skipping steps like they did with this one.
Ummm one thing with getting something to plug said hole is its 5000 feet down in the ocean not exactly an easy task mind you but those assholes should have had a safty plan in place to start with course that's to logical to us regular folks but don't forget these are and no offense to any on here engineers lol they "know whot they are doing" YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

Till then how the hell much of the shit is gonna spew out I mean really August? That's freakin 3 months away they are gonna have not that they don't already a major natural disaster on their hands the government should go after them and hit them hard I mean harder than any oil company has ever been fined for something like this. With today's technology something like SHOULD NOT have happened I'm sorry but the sons a bitchin bean counters always find a way to cut corners to save a fuckin dollar to line their pockets more well it's time to really stick it to the cock suckers. Ok off soap box
Saw this on Facebook they had a group I vote we plug the Gulf oil leak with BP executives. Sounds good to me stick their fat asses in the hole lol.
I agree with you bike we could use u down here you have good ideas. Remington all I can say is I hope it never happens to you and your friends. THis is the 2nd time in 5 years and all the govenment can offer is the Iraq sppech and more photo ops
I've just read that American scientists have finally developed a vehicle that can be run on water..... sadly it can only be ran on water from the Gulf Of Mexico.

wakka wakka wakka

(sheds a tear)
Well- Operation Top Kill fails, which means that name is available once again as an X-Box game title- and BP is back as square one. Dumbasses- I take it back now, I really do hope they go bankrupt and that their asses get kicked out of the country. To all that lose their jobs- I hope they are talented and get jobs elsewhere. Incompetence deserves consequences, and working for irresponsible dumbasses is unlucky. I'm in New Orleans now, there's so much anger, a lifestyle possibly gone for many thousands. Fuck BP- bring the hammer, their next ridiculous guess at a solution probably also won't work, since their first four haven't. An environment and economy are getting murdered, and they're doing 'the best they can'- to hell with them.

Great the fucknuts are gonna try again and again and again why the hell don't they just get it over and done with and call in the United States Army Corps of Engineers? Bet they could have sealed the leak already.

Interesting article here

If it's any consolation, BP's stock has fallen about 28% since the rig disaster.

While we're at it, can we get the last administration to cop up to the fact that they've allowed the deregulation of these wells and other things to go full speed ahead?

I still can't help but wonder where those 92,000 people that they employ are going to go when/if they go bankrupt.
