A Pakistani doctor has been suspended for using an ambulance to transport a cow he bought at a local market, a provincial health department official says.
Muneer Ahmad says the doctor was intercepted by police on Saturday as he was making his way home in the vehicle in the eastern city of Gujrat in Punjab province.
A photograph in the English-language Dawn newspaper showed a large black and white cow tied to a bar in the back of the ambulance.
Ahmad said on Sunday he was "shocked to discover what the doctor was doing."
