Since joining Lush my friends have left me friendly reminders who to read...
I kept hearing>

imalovernotawriter

But I don't read many male writers... sorry but it is a 'guy' thing....

Well today I saw a message about someone leaving so I read a story....

http://www.lushstories.com/stories/anal/a-life-in-30-minutes.aspx

I did...

And it is the best writing I have ever seen on Lush.

But he is leaving.
He doesn't have to leave, it's entirely his choice.

I agree, he's a great writer, one of my favourites in fact and I've spoken to him a lot since I joined.

He did break site guidelines, but it's not like he's having his account deleted or being asked to leave...

He says that he chooses to leave...

It's lush, people come and go..

Some suspend their accounts, some get deleted, some leave only to return and, sad as I will be to see him go, it is his personal decision...

I will miss him.. We spoke a good deal...
Oh Dear!

As someone who writes as 'Stephanie', though I'm a GUY as is stated upon my Profile, I write from both a male and a female perspective. I've never had a problem with that. Nor have my readers.

Lush does not permit Multiple Identities/Personas because these can be used to deceive and confuse fellow Lush members. There have been incidences of members befriending such 'phantom' profiles in the past, only to feel at least silly, at worst hurt when these Phantoms are exposed as Liars. Let's not beat around the bush. If you are a Lush member who talked to 'Paperback Rita' honestly and in good faith, (I was....) and received a reply You have been deceived and played for a fool.

Lush Admin will not allow such practice.

If you open ANY paperback novel, you will observe that each occurrence of dialogue is ALWAYS given it's own paragraph.

This Member is CHOOSING to delete their account.

xx Steph

(I might mention that the stories I read from both I'm A Lover...... AND Paperback Rita were among the finest I've ever read on our site.)
I understand the policy of multiple accounts, though I suspect there are many members who have a multiple account... I have talked about this a lot since I joined, no proof so it is al suspicion.

I just think it is a shame one of the greatest writers lush has ever had is leaving... It is a story site and his stories whether from Rita or Ima where pure gems! They were a welcome addition, but that is just my humble opinion!

Many authors write under a pseudonym. Like I said it is a story site not a dating site, as long there is no harm done I don't see a problem but again just my opinion! I am going to miss rita & ima & their great stories!
That's a real shame.

It's his decision nonetheless.
I don't think this is fair

- that he is leaving, I know it's his choosing, but he is a very good writer and will be missed by many

- that this is being made public. If the roles were reversed and we outed a mod who had another account and fooled many, we would be suspended or banned.... not fair, sorry.

He's not been outed - he PMd all of his friends to tell them exactly what had happened - explained that he had the two accounts going and why...

FltMale is obviously a fan and genuinely wanted everyone to know... His original post quoted Ima's PM to his friends...

Yes, but that was to all his friends in a private message, not for all of lush to read.

Fugs, I am sorry if I violated a rule, I was not aware of censorship regulations on Lush regarding quoted email that was Ima obviously intended for wide distribution... I do apologize to you personally as I had no intention to offend you.

The offending email has been removed...
quite some time ago.

And now his message is erased as well...

Agreed!
Well, there's the choice of just deactivating your account.
If I had stories on a website and was feeling like leaving then that'd probably be what I'd do.
Specially since I might be refused to put them up again if I came back.

There's a lot of years work in there. Would be a shame to just.. yah know..
Temporarily moved pending a reply from imalover.

Just curious, where has this been posted For ALL of Lush to read? I seem to remember a thread for Mods about confidentiality, is that not the case now?
The night that changed my life, a four part series of a married man lusting after his co-worker

This was originally posted in the public forum. Nic moved it here, Temporarily, I think.
Ftlmale was sent the message, and included it in the post in this thread (the full message was correctly edited out soon after by Lisa).

I moved this thread behind closed doors, in case imalovernotawriter had a problem with it. He may have posted the message while drunk / depressed etc, and might have changed his mind.

If it's out in the open, his hand is rather forced somewhat.

Message:

Hi

Thanks for writing. I actually have 3 accounts - Ftlmale is me too...

Joking! Though it sounds like he could be. I don't mind it going 'public'. It's kind of you to consider my feelings though. Thank you.

I'm not leaving over that issue. My enforced absence gave me time to think. The cold turkey did me good. My presence here is a burden to me, though a very pleasant one. I think the only way to control it is to stop altogether. If I wrote mainstream stories, stuff I could show my friends and family, I wouldn't need to come here and lead this double life. Unfortunately, it's sex that impels me to write; I have little interest otherwise.

The secrecy is tiring. I write on my phone in stolen moments, which again is tiring. It's not as though I could earn anything from doing it. The sole purpose is self-gratification - in every sense - and that doesn't feel healthy.

I didn't ask about dual accounts because I never imagined it was not allowed. I was secretive because I wanted to see how Rita would fare. Her popularity was eye-opening! Though, on reflection, not that surprising.

No knee-jerk reaction. I've invested lots of time here, 'met' some lovely people. But it all feels hollow, somehow. Hollow and wrong.

Thanks for Lush. It's a great place and has been a real comfort to me over the years, despite its purely virtual nature.

Aaaw, that's a shame...

Nice that you look after your members like that, Nicola...
That's so sad. sad
I hope he chooses to deactivate rather than delete.

Things change a few months (or years) later and he might want to come back and just reassess how he uses the site or writes so that it's not negatively affecting his real life. The Lush experience really is what you make of it or want it to be. Sounds like he just got caught up in things and couldn't strike that happy balance.
Whether he deletes or deactivates, I hope stepping away from Lush helps Ima find the fulfillment in real life that he seems to be missing.

Meanwhile, I felt an overarching need to reply to FtLMale.

Michael,

I found this forum post of yours quite insolent:

> Fugs, I am sorry if I violated a rule, I was not aware of censorship regulations on Lush regarding quoted email that was Ima obviously intended for wide distribution... I do apologize to you personally as I had no intention to offend you or the other 99,999 members.

First of all, your use of the term "censorship" is inaccurate and inflammatory. You clearly do not understand the heinous nature of actual censorship and why it cannot exist at Lush; using the word loosely degrades it and is beneath you, or who I thought you were.

Also, the difference between sending a message to 217 people (the number of imalovernotawriter's friends) and having it broadcast on a public forum with virtually unlimited potential viewers is monumental. It is rather hard to fathom that this seemingly obvious fact has to be stated. Another thing to consider is that the message you received and then posted told only part of the story — unsurprisingly, the part that painted imalovernotawriter most favorably. Trust me, there was much more to it than you heard, and no, I will not be sharing it.

Finally, your "apology" is fairly dripping with sarcasm. An insincere apology is worse than none at all...but I suspect you already know that.

Please note, this message is my opinion alone and is not the official position of Lush.

Sincerely,

Maggie Rascal

The OP has asked me to lock this thread, he's still getting mails as he's "following" the thread (there's been a reply to....) - it doesn't show any of our replies, but an alert.
Imalovernotawriter has ok'd this thread to be made public, so here it is.
