The joys of parenthood. Told 5 year old tonight its too late to go out and its pouring with rain.
So he sneaks out the back door and off to his friend. When he realises he's in trouble he tells a friend that he's going to hide and never come back.
45 mins later, after a frantic search in the dark, a friend's mum brings him back home. Serious talk time..this goes beyond anger into cold silence.....
I'm sure its not just my 5 year old (can't let myself imagine what kind of teenager he will become).

Well, I don't remember my daughter doing things that would make me scream when she was younger, she was a really well behaved baby and toddler, so when she misbehaved, I didn't know how to deal with it, but....
From the time she started Kindergarten, she would do her homework....which getting her to do that is a major accomplishment in itself....but when she would go to school, if the teacher didn't ask for it (or more likely, she didn't hear the teacher asking for it) she wouldn't turn it in. Many times she and I have had arguments about it, I couldn't figure out why in the heck she would spend so much time doing it and then not turn it in! This continues to perplex me to this day...I'm trying to hold out for a couple more years until she is out of school at least!
