or love to hate.
Someone mentioned that they hate the phrase, "We're on the same page"

one of mine is "politically correct" I mean, WTF?

What's some of yours?
People who use the following:

"irregardless"

"I'm just saying...."

"Up close and personal"
lemme get out my list....and I preface by saying I'm guilty of many of these too, I'm sure:

"It is what it is"

Is there a more self-evident, worthless phrase than this?

To be honest with you...

When I hear this, I know what I hear may in fact not be true at all, plus it's superfluous.

I'm not a racist, but....

When this is said, you know it's about to be followed by a very racist, bigoted statement

You need to invest in...

This wouldn't bother me, only the speaker is almost never talking about things that actually accrue value over time. A better coffee maker is not an 'investment', or is the new flat-iron at Sephora. Must haves, perhaps, but not investments, so I won't be 'investing' in them.

with that, i better turn this over to the others...

Too Funny you guys!

"It is what it is" My last realtor said that so much I wanted to smack him! LOL

Chase "I'm just saying" Don't you want to say shut up and say it?

and "to be honest" or "To tell you the truth" I want to say, what were you telling me before?
oops forgot one that Chase's reminded me of. "Know what I'm sayin"
a former boss of mine liked to say,

"To be perfectly truthful"

We actually had a bingo game we would play with all of his annoying phrases at staff meetings (unbeknownst to him of course).

another one he overused....

"We just need to tweak this"

Kiss Me In The Rain - a microfiction about love and desire

I had a high school teacher who used to say some really annoying phrases several times over each class, but probably the most annoying two he would say were:

"Bet your first born on it" and "you can take that to the bank" He thought he was so cool, but man was he annoying!
"wif" instead of "with"

Yeah, "irregardless" drives me up the wall.

"I don't mean to sound like a _____, but shouldn't you..."

"With all due respect..."
"Let's touch base"

"Kudos!"

"That's money baby"
"Love all, trust a few, and do wrong to none."
Reply deleted as someone had used the phrase in this very thread
"See what I'm saying?" LOL
My MIL used to say "He's Large and in Charge" My hubs and I would count how many times in an evening she'd say it.

another one that gets me is when someone says they want to "ax" me a question. I cringe.
"Can I ask you a question? "

You just did.
