Yep. Austin takes live music VERY seriously. The PBS TV series, Austin City Limits, is a good example. It's a challenge to find a locally owned eatin' place that doesn't have a live band on weekends.
They just finished the South by Southwest Music Festival which now includes film and technology gatherings. As a local, I avoid, of course.

She grew up in the southeast corner near the Gulf coast and Louisiana, in a place called, Port Arthur. She and former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson attended the same h/s at the same time. He was a jock while she was an outsider and they didn't know one another.
