Unseasonably warm, nice weather continues here in the Great No Longer White North. More seasonable weather looms though, so I'll take it while I can.

While I was hoping to watch the Lions in tomorrow’s big game, I’m gonna watch and root for our own Fuzzy Lion’s Chiefs.

Finally some nice weather down here! Did a day at Epcot yesterday and today it’s a beach afternoon! My friend the meteorologist told me that this past Dec and Jan were the cloudiest months in the 84 years that records have been kept. So, to have the sun shining again is doing wonders for my soul!

the commercials haven't been as good the past several years, but yeah, we have a NO TALKING during the ads in force at the house. :) and the halftime show is usually pretty good, tho not always. not a huge fan of Usher, to be honest, but it should be fun anyways.

She changed her name to Astride, then went on to become a starring economist, because she could say, "On the one hand…and on the other…and the other…and the other…and finally…" And she NEVER jumped to conclusions!

I believe she was quite popular with the ladies as well. She could not only finger three or four of them simultaneously, but the suckers on her fingers left quite an impression.

So she was a star in more ways than one, and not just another fish in the sea!

Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and hung the bunting and banners for the Super Bowl. Although she kept looking at me as if to say, "WHY?" I wasn't quite sure what to tell her.

Tea Kettle is refilled and steaming away. There are pots of Red Rose and Ceylon Black from Sri Lanka (formerly Serendip) available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been desludged, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using High Octane coffee – as I'm sure people are going to want to get revved up. And some Moonshine to keep them happy.

Plus I've made a batch of Curvy's Brownies, just for comfort.

Donuts? Of course! With Sara's sprinklies and today's EXTRA THICK sports section in her hidey hole – which is getting kinda full at this point.

Plus we've got pizza by the yard, and I've got both chicken wings and ribs, extra spicy – Chinese Szechuan BBQ recipe – typical Toronto fusion cuisine! And if anyone wants something more, let 'em ask, OK?

Now, what will people have to drink?

Already stocked up for the "Big Game Party" eh. Bit early for pizza and ribs but maybe later. For now, a Ceylon Black tea and a couple brownies.

I have been toying with old, long abandoned story ideas with a view to writing one of them just to get writing again. We shall see how it goes.

Oops its been a busy week but I'm here...

pulling my little red wagon behind me and moseyin over to my special agent hidey spot and retrieving my donuts (yay Tupperware) and the past issues of the sports page putting them in my wagon and grabbing some pizza and wings and settling down in my favorite corner booth with today's sports page and a large tailgater since it's SUPERBOWL SUNDAY GO CHIEFS :worship:

Well! Wasn't THAT exciting!

Except I didn't see the game. However, from the reports it was an astonishing win for Mahomes and KC.

Why didn't I see the game?

Well, it turns out that our almost 4-year-old granddaughter has come down with COVID. She's the one that had heart surgery two days after she was born, and whom we have worked hard to protect, taking WAY more precautions than almost anyone else we know.

So now she's in the hospital where her mother works – and her mother is also sick.

Anyway – congratulations to Lion and his team! Drinks are on him!

I got nasty looks from Lady Dryad when I came in this morning. Not surprising – the place is a mess!

Well, OK, MORE of a mess than usual. Still she has worked her magic, and we're ready to rumble.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Japanese Hōjicha teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Today we're using Folgers – Lion's favourite brand – help celebrate. I was going to use a frou-frou coffee (as he calls them), but decided Nah Let's keep it comfy and happy!

I've put out some celebratory donuts for y'all, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got some peacna coffee cake to start.

Ape, I highly recommend retirement when you can swing it. It's lovely to see my husband enjoying his retirement so far. Though he is working about 20 hours per week for a friend of his, it's doing something he really enjoys. Plus he still has plenty of time to finally do some of that things he never has had time to do.

Update on grandcub's situation: She slept through the night, her bloodwork is good this morning, she seems to be doing well, and we're hoping they'll send her home today.

Mama doesn't have COVID – or at least is testing negative so far. Sounds like it's going to work out. Claws crossed!

Thank you Lion, and everyone for the well wishes. It was kind of a jagged day on Sunday, but we got through it. So far, so good!

Gong hei fat choi to everyone, somewhat belatedly for the Chinese / Lunar New Year! I'm told it means "Congratulations and be prosperous," and the Chiefs (and Lion) certainly deserve that!

Meanwhile, today is MARDI GRAS, so let's roll out the beignets and the coffee-with-something!

I've got my mask all picked out – cap and bells seems somehow appropriate, eh?
