Maui. Its been about -30C here. (-20F for you heathens) Sprite: sorry to hear about your SF team, I had wrongly assumed you were rooting for the Seahawks. I was so happy for you when the Seattle guy ran the opening kickoff for a TD. (I probably shouldn't have brought up that detail.)

I've come to the realization I drive like a maniac. Was off to the bank today and saw a cop car on the opposite side of the road. Looked down at my speedometer, 40k/hr over the limit. Cop was busy. Horseshoe up my ass. Reminds of a similar story: Driving at excessive speed, engine whining and saw a cop with radar on a tripod facing the other direction. She heard my engine and turned but not the radar. I did slow a bit and as I went by she shook her finger at me and we exchanged a smile. Hilarious. In fairness I was near the end of a 400km drive and trying to make a dinner date. It took my nearly a YEAR to seduce that girl.

I drive much slower with passengers. Honest.

I'm working on a couple of multi-chapter stories that are both based on true events. I just came to a sudden realization: the best thing about writing is you can change the ending 🤣

I also realized today (its after midnight here) is actually Wednesday making my immediately preceding post wishing everyone Happy Monday a bit late as it was in fact Tuesday afternoon. I may have a bit of a glow on.

Well, Lyf, it sounds like you've been … BUSY!

I hope you changed the ending so it wasn't happy, meaning I hope you're RL ending WAS happy!

Now, it's Hump-Day, so let's get a-humpin'…

Lights are on, (checks around) Lady Dryad has cleaned up and I guess this is as good as it gets.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Lumberjack Coffee blend from Muskoka Coffee Roasters … TIMBER!

We're featuring coffee cake and English butter tarts.

That's the thing about English tarts. They're very smooth, very tasty, and slide down … well, NVMD!

Big snow… and I really mean BIG SNOW… hitting the Bluegrass this weekend. I’m freakin’ a little. If it comes, we’ll all be snowed in for days which causes me some anxiety. Loading up on supplies today…

It's finally going to start warming up here this weekend. I know it's not as cold as where y'all are, but when the feels-like temps dip down to 30 F, it's not what I signed up for when I moved to Florida. 😳

So, the locks and handles are supposed to be installed today on the garage doors. We shall see. I'll believe it when I see it.🙄

It may not stop the snow, but hopefully it will ease your anxiety to know that Storage Room 7 is now fully setup and operational! You should have seen the look on the bellhop’s faces when I pulled up with 42 giant black plastic tubs! I then asked them to “line them up in the hallway" outside a random door. What they didn’t know is that the door leads to the only storage room on property with an ocean view.

If anyone is in West Maui, let me know and I will share the key code for the door. Gotta keep it locked to prevent little ones from wandering in.

This is going to be EPIC!

In fact, we are GETTING snow just about every, with more on the way.

Kimmi guess what? It's this ancient lion trek to Louisville starting the drive Tuesday Morning!! So I'll bring calm to you by Wednesday / Thursday.

But this is what pending here this weekend

Good morning Rumpies! I have a garage door AND a handle/lock! So, it looks like we are all set to move out of the two pods sitting in the parking on Saturday. We will help our neighbors move their stuff, too. We have been without garages since September 2024, thanks to Hurricane Helene. It is exciting to be returning to normal.

Except for the parking lot repaving and a few follow-up items, Phase 2 reconstruction is just about completed. Phase 3 will be discussed next month. That involves rebuilding our pier. Fingers crossed.

Hope all y'all that are getting that winter storm are ready to hunker down with supplies. Stay warm and safe!
