Well… crazy stuff for mirror twins. My thyroid scan revealed a suspicious nodule in exact place, opposite side, of my sisters, so now the fun begins for me.

On a good note, her surgery is over and she’s doing well. Ended up being a 5 hr surgery yesterday, more radical neck dissection, due to suspicious lymph nodes. Kudus to her surgeon for being skilled, diligent, proactive with what he was seeing.

We appreciate all the prayers and well wishes.

She’s the tough one between us for sure. I’m struggling, overwhelmed, but seeking mental health help today.

When I went in to the surgical suite I told the assembled docs and nurses I thought the patient experience would get off to a much better start if the beds didn't look like a crucifix. They were still talking about my smartassery when I went lights out. 🤣 A sense of humour and a positive outlook are great medicine!

My sister told the surgeon he couldn’t operate on her unless he was a Swifty. Then the anesthesiologist showed her friendship bracelets and said she made the Dr play Taylor Swift in the OR all the time. Ha! So all was good!

Did he get swept away by an unseasonal Kansas twister to join Dorothy and Toto in Oz?

Either way, I hope he and Jane are OK, and enjoying life!

Oh wow. If Amish baking is anything like Old Order Mennonite baking, those will be sooooo good. I grew up in Waterloo Region/County when there was still a fairly large Mennonite population there.
