Oh wow. If Amish baking is anything like Old Order Mennonite baking, those will be sooooo good. I grew up in Waterloo Region/County when there was still a fairly large Mennonite population there.
Likewise – although the Mennonite family that serves our local farmers market sell vegetables, not baked goods.
Which I couldn't eat anyway – GF, and all.
Lion, travel safe.
And Dave, I'll look forward to your stories!

And it's a Sunny-Day!
Well, at least it's Sunday, even if it's actually snowing up here in the Great White North!
Let's get some caffeine brewing, shall we?
Yes, we shall.
They say it's OK to talk to yourself, as long as you don't answer, right?
Right!
Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re all set.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Lasang Salchow teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and sits ready to serve.
Today we're using Muskoka Maple coffee blend from Muskoka Coffee Roasters, to mellow our way into the morning.
I've put out donuts.
Plus I've got buttecream cuppycakes for Kat – plus, of course, Coke Zero to offset the calories.
That's the way it works, right?
Take care out there, 'K?

And since Lion and his marvelous record collection isn't available just now, I'll drop a dime in the Würlitzer and see what we can play to get things started, such as…
Sergio Mendez and Brasil 66 with … Chelsea Morning …
And staying with that upbeat sound, let's get … A Little Help From My Friends …

Oo, chocolate sweet buns. Yummy!!!
I'll take a Yorkshire tea as well.
Good morning. Shook my headache and its after effects. Now one week until I start feeling old again (son turns 27).
Taxes are done as far as I can go with what I have. Still waiting on some slips. Why CRA lets providers have until March 31 to issue slips when the deadline to file is April 30, I don't get. Means you really have only a month to put things to bed if you have a provider who runs things out to the line. At least it's all downloaded now rather than having to wait for the mail.

Yup, I know the feeling, Mr Ape. Mine turned 28 weeks before my bday. I get to feel old twice in close proximity. Ha! Seems like just yesterday he was a toddler.
Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️
Good Morning, Just a cup of Bertha’s Best Coffee at this time . However, Kimmi’s Chocolate Buns does look delicious. There something about the taste of that chocolate. We are expecting near blizzard conditions in this part of Nebraska today and tomorrow then going back up to the 70’s, that’s crazy! Take Care everyone and stay safe and healthy.

Based on mid-March 2026 reports, feeder calf prices remain very strong due to tight supplies, with many lightweight calves (under 600 lbs) selling in the $450.00–$550.00+ per cwt (hundredweight) range in various regional auctions.

Yes, we shall.
We got a foot overnight and are expecting another 6-12 inches today, coupled with 50-60 mph winds. And the funny thing is that we had bare grass yesterday at this time. Fortunately, it’ll be back in the 50’s next weekend, so it won’t last.
Grabbing a mug of Bertha’s Best and starting to put some ideas in paper for the new writing challenge. No idea where I am going yet. Perhaps being snowed in will inspire me.

Good Morning All
Happy Saint Patrick's Day
The one day every one can be Irish.
Here a little backstory on Saint Patrick
Much of what is known about Patrick’s legendary life comes from the Confessio, a book he wrote during his last years. Born in Roman Britain (likely in what is now Wales, western England or southern Scotland) to a well-to-do Christian family of Roman citizenship, Patrick was captured and likely enslaved at age 16 by Irish marauders. For the next six years, he worked as a herder in Ireland, turning to a deepening religious faith for comfort. Following the counsel of a voice he heard in a dream one night, he escaped and found passage on a ship to Britain, where he was eventually reunited with his family.

I'll leave the morning duties to Bear this morning

May Irish Eyes smile on y'all
☘️
I'll double back to make sure Bear shows up with morning refreshments
So, St. Paddy wasn't Irish then?
Ah, well … today he can be, along wid da rest of us!
But then, as my former agent used to say, I spoke with a brilliant "Lucky Charms" accent, so I'll knock it off as he was well and truly Irish his own self.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Irish Breakfast (for sure) teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're serving Irish coffee, don't ya know … wid Jameson's, 'course
I've put out donuts.
And Siobhan is putting out other goodies…
Take care out there, 'K?

Yeah, Bear. I heard he wasn't Irish and he didn't drive the reptile snakes out either. Apparently the Snakes were a pagan group that he defeated in battle. Sounds a bit of a kick ass.. anyway.. if you don't have a bit of Irish in you, find someone who does hehehe xxx

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! And good morning!
I have a wee bit of Irish in the family tree, less even than Scots (I have a Scottish great-grandmother). Love Irish music and culture, though. Did visit Dublin a few years back and had lunch in a pub.
I was introduced to Irish rocker Gary Moore by, of all people, Finnish metalheads Nightwish, who covered his "Over the Hills and Far Away" early in their history. Here's the original.
While Nightwish are Finnish, Celtic music is a big influence that often shines through. English musician Troy Donockley was brought into the band specifically because, while not Irish, he played things like uillean pipes and tin whistle. This song features Troy on lead vocals and has a definite Celtic lilt to it.

Greetings, Rachel. And welcome to the hottest – and coolest – place in all of Lushland: Rumps.
I'm your Beartender, so pull up a chair and tell us all the interesting and embarrassing things about yourself that you care to reveal.
And first drink's free – as with all pushers. Whaddal ya have?

The sun is out at the moment, here in south Blighty. Just cut my lawn for the 5th time this year, and we've been promised for tomorrow the hottest day of the year so far. Sounds great so far, but we are only talking about 20 °C. But I'm not complaining... though I doubt we'll get higher than 18 °C where I live... too near the sea. 😊
A pot of Yorkshire tea, please, Bear. Thank you. I'm still debating if I'm going to enter the new competition. But we will see on that! 😎😈
My latest story: Cash In Hand 11 - "A Real Exposure" - Part 1 Of 3
Had to show up at the bar on St. Paddy's Day!
I've been under the weather for the past several days. Just more of the same BS... next appointment with the Rhinologist is April 14.
I'll have a Guinness while I mod today... I'm a full quarter Irish... so it seems required.
Hope all y'all are doing okay!

I hope you get well soon, techgoddess. I hope April 14th sorts out the issue or, at the very least, gets you on the right path to recovery. Your drinks are on my tab today, Kat. 😊
