RUMPLATIONS: Awesome Honky Tonk and Cyber Bar

‘Evening, folks. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

I have zero Irish in me, but I’d still love a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson.

I almost went straight for the Irish Car Bombs. But the last time I started an evening like that, I was hung over for two days! Lesson learned. Sip, go slow, and go to bed before midnight. 😊

And Happy St. Paddy's Day hangover, one and all!

Today's offerings will orient that way.

First, caffeine:

We have Gothrider Coffee, "Guaranteed to Ignite Your Soul" it says here on the label.

And we've got Gold Label Yorkshire, plus Lipton Intense, Extra-Strong teas, with other, lesser teas available in the box.

Hot chocolate? Of course, with Mini-Mouse, er, marshmallows.

We've got extra sweet donuts this morning, and ham and cheese omelettes, with a side or three of bacon.

I know, I know – no one feels like eating, but greasy food is a way to calm that queasy stomach!

And I'll play some gentle MUZAK in the background, while you all try to find your eyeballs again.

BTW, do you know what Beartenders call St. Paddy's Day?

We had my neighbor over for our annual St. Paddy's Day feast, although we were minus her husband this year, as he is in memory care. Kevin made corned beef, soda bread, and red potatoes, and my neighbor made cabbage and a lovely green cake. I brought the Guinness. (Sorry, David, I'll um... pay you back somehow...).

Feeling a bit irritated this morning that my two-hour penicillin testing appointment that was scheduled for April 16 (which was already a wait of three months) got cancelled because the tests are on back order. So, now I am on a wait list. I would bet money that my turn will come up while I'm traveling in Michigan in late May/early June. Grrrr...

It's always something.

My bloodwork came back off for some or another immunodeficiency...will need to wait for doc appt on April 14 to see what's what.

Soooo, I'm gonna grab a Coke Zero, head to my corner, and do some story modding. 😘

Our CRAZY weather continues with unseasonable HEAT with temps in the low 90's F though Sunday evening.

I have put my comp story on simmer for today. Maybe tomorrow, too. Got lots of time and I think it is close enough to being ready that I don't need to worry about time. Even if I dump this one and start from scratch, I have lots of time.

What else is going on? It is Friday so I am wrapping up the work week. Weather is so-so though not raining as much as they forecast. At least it isn't snow.

Eid Mubarak to any Muslims who may read this. And Happy Nowruz (Persian New Year) to those who observe it. The two happen to coincide this year.

Yorkshire Tea and one of the pastries (Danishes?) the Lion put out.

Wow. Must be Saturday. No action in close to 24 hours.

I will put some Blue Mountain in ole Bertha. There's Assam and Earl Grey in the teapots. Kettle is hot for other fine teas or hot chocolate.

Major rewrite this morning. Was unhappy with some backstory I gave the protagonist so I rewrote probably four paragraphs. Debating the ending, too, though when I reread it, it still stuck the landing IMHO. It's ambiguous and I don't think that goes over well here, even if I like some ambiguity rather than tying things up with a neat ribbon.
