I have zero Irish in me, but I’d still love a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson.
I almost went straight for the Irish Car Bombs. But the last time I started an evening like that, I was hung over for two days! Lesson learned. Sip, go slow, and go to bed before midnight. 😊
My latest stories:
Public Displays of Affection - A young woman struggle to help her close friends come to terms with her latest relationship.
The Summer Tour - A chance encounter between two strangers draws them into something impulsive.
Unexpected Maintenance - A single woman, a broken appliance, and a very attractive maintenance guy. What could possible go wrong?
We had my neighbor over for our annual St. Paddy's Day feast, although we were minus her husband this year, as he is in memory care. Kevin made corned beef, soda bread, and red potatoes, and my neighbor made cabbage and a lovely green cake. I brought the Guinness. (Sorry, David, I'll um... pay you back somehow...).
Feeling a bit irritated this morning that my two-hour penicillin testing appointment that was scheduled for April 16 (which was already a wait of three months) got cancelled because the tests are on back order. So, now I am on a wait list. I would bet money that my turn will come up while I'm traveling in Michigan in late May/early June. Grrrr...
It's always something.
My bloodwork came back off for some or another immunodeficiency...will need to wait for doc appt on April 14 to see what's what.
Soooo, I'm gonna grab a Coke Zero, head to my corner, and do some story modding. 😘
My wife complains that I’m reading too much on my iPhone. So trying to be sweet she got me a e-reader. What she doesn’t understand is that Lush isn’t available on a Kindle Paperwhite. 🤪🤪🤪

Congratulations Mr Ape for being one of the winners in the SS writing challenge!
Enjoy your winnings!
Thank you for running that challenge. Been rather sleepy over there since last comp. For those who don't go to SS and don't know what we are on about, here is my winning story, though I encourage you to give the whole thread a read. There's some good stories in there.
I have put my comp story on simmer for today. Maybe tomorrow, too. Got lots of time and I think it is close enough to being ready that I don't need to worry about time. Even if I dump this one and start from scratch, I have lots of time.
What else is going on? It is Friday so I am wrapping up the work week. Weather is so-so though not raining as much as they forecast. At least it isn't snow.
Eid Mubarak to any Muslims who may read this. And Happy Nowruz (Persian New Year) to those who observe it. The two happen to coincide this year.
Yorkshire Tea and one of the pastries (Danishes?) the Lion put out.

Major rewrite this morning. Was unhappy with some backstory I gave the protagonist so I rewrote probably four paragraphs. Debating the ending, too, though when I reread it, it still stuck the landing IMHO. It's ambiguous and I don't think that goes over well here, even if I like some ambiguity rather than tying things up with a neat ribbon.
Had another early morning hike with the deer. They were everywhere!
I had been overthinking my comp entry and finally just pulled the plug. My sister is doing really well now. That radical neck dissection is messy business, but she looks to be past it and now her surgeon says she’s cancer free. He sees no reason for radiation or chemo based on good results from lymph nodes. Yay! :)
I’m starting to get my stuff sorted now. Insurance is trying to deny coverage on a biopsy due to small size of nodule. Fuck that! I wanna know if ‘C’. Not just wait a year to see if it grew (and maybe spread).
Kimmi, get the damn biopsy done! And FIGHT the damn insurance company! You should be able to get it covered, especially since your twin has had cancer. Early detection saves lives. Don't let them dick you around!
I have started something that might develop into a comp story. IDK...
That is wonderful news about your twin sister, Kimmi. 😊 And I do hope your insurance company pays up soon; from here, I don't see the argument for not paying out. 😳
It was also nice to see the deer photos, too. A cup of Yorkshire Tea, please, Bear. Thank you. 😎
Thank you, Kat and David! If my sister’s genetic test comes back positive, they said they’d cover the biopsy. So, I’m waiting for that result before I fight. Hopefully results next week.
Where did our Bearkeep wander off too? Snuck off on another seal hunt?
