Temps are creeping up here. 28C when I left work. Supposed to break 30 next two days. So a big tumbler of iced tea, please. And that will be my order for the next couple days.
Well, it's Thors-Day down at the bar!
How many of you lot are feeling Thor today?
We've got some unpronounceable coffee from Planet Bean today, plus Yorkshire and Assam teas on the sideboard.
Swiss Miss hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows.
Suppliers delivered some nice-looking donuts today โ get 'em before they're got!
And some vanilla cuppycakes with buttercream icing for Kat โ to offset the Coke Zero!
And take care out there, 'K?

That does look, um, rather cozy. ๐
Home on sick time. Felt like crap after I got to work. Seems to be just my usual migraine but I have not been feeling 100% for a day or so now so who knows.
Yorkshire Tea and an Advil.

Sorry you're feeling under the weather โ Yorkshire and Advil comin' up. That's a new combination for me, but โ sure.
Maybe Kimmi can lend you Terrance to cuddle up to, Ape. He's quite furry, after all.

And we made it! It's Get-Fried-Day, also known as Friega's-Day, so let's get friggin'!
Lights are on and Lady Dryad has done her cleaning thing.
Tea Kettle is refilled and has a full head of steam. There are pots of Yorkshire and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Happy Camper Coffee, so y'all better get happy, 'K?
and today we're offering peanut butter cookies, made with real cookies!
And almond croissants, made with gen-u-ine croisses โ whatever they are.
Take care out there, 'K?

New Sara Bareilles the other day was my track of the week. Floor Jansen, my current favourite, debuted a couple new songs in concerts this week but so far, we only have fan-shot videos for those so audio is poor to decent. Hopefully we'll get a proper release soon because the songs themselves sound fantastic.
The aforementioned Sara Bareilles track :

Bear probably has grands visiting or something.
I've put some nondescript dark roast I found under the counter on to brew in Bertha. Teas are something black and something green. I brought some goodies over from Inspirations (which is even quieter than this place right now).

Sun-Day โ and for once it actually is sunny here!
Somebody must have screwed up!
(glances around) Seems like Lady Dryad slept in today. The bar looks โ normal, which means messy.
Oh well, I guess even dryads need time off every once in a while.
Beautiful Bertha has been shined up, cleaned out, refilled with whatever that stuff is that's coming out of the tap, plus Blue Heron blend coffee from Salt Spring Coffee Roasters on Canada's Wet Coast.
Teas on the sideboard are Yorkshire and Lemon Zinger.
Swiss Miss isn't missing, as aren't the mini-marshmallows.
And since it's strawberry season, we'll have some strawberry treats today.

I've just popped in to say hello, Bear. A mug of Yorkshire tea, please. Thank you. ๐
The weather is better here today, not great, but better. Yesterday was a day when you didn't venture out. It was wet and stormy. It didn't stop raining โ a typical British summer. So I did a little writing.
Last week, I learned my youngest daughter is getting married in July, so the twins she's expecting in late September/early October can have the father's surname. I am happy for her. ๐ That's both my daughters getting married this year. ๐

Congratulations to you and your family. Sounds like a busy year ahead between weddings and two more grands.
Yorkshire Tea as well. And one of those strawberry things.
I have settled my retirement date with my boss. July 2028. Two more years. And I am now cleared to start handing off some of the few IT support tasks still on my plate, mostly our accounting systems. Basically, I will be focused on more strategic and business relationship work for the remainder. There's one project I will still take on but I will get someone else working with me to back me up and take over when the time comes. And our big development project but, again, I am more handling things like communication, briefing execs, and strategic focus than running the actual development.

That's great news, David! Congrats to you and all your family!
If it weren't a bit of a stretch, I'd invite you to have the receptions here โ fully catered, peanut shells and all!

Ooooo exciting having set a retirement date. I bet that feels good! ๐
I had set one a few years back, but that date keeps moving out. Boo Hiss

I originally wanted to call it a day last year (at 60) but backed off for various reasons during the pandemic. Kind of wish I did but kind of glad I didn't as well. We had four people go last year, all valuable team members, so me going would have been a rough blow on top of those (I am the company's original IT guy so the department and infrastructure we have has all been built by me or people working for me).

Congratulations โ in advance! Feels pretty good not to have to get up early, but to do so anyway.
And with that, we'll start off a New Week with a New Bear!
Well, actually, the same old Bear. Sort of.
I mean, you never step on the same Bear twice, right?
Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and weโre ready to go.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and English Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Gothrider coffee โ "To ignite your soul", whatever that means
I've put out donuts.
Plus I've got some cream-filled cannoli for y'all.
Take care out there, 'K?

English Breakfast and a cannoli.
I have a Lush story going but not sure about it. I like it but not sure how it will fly. Still has a ways to go anyhow. Big first time sex scene looms.
Good weather continues here but it's gotten a bit steamy now. Might see 30C today, as high as 34 later in the work. AC might get a workout.

After you scarf all those donuts, want to borrow my glucometer? ๐
So the file server at work blew up. And it has files for the accounting system on it so that was down, too. Fun, wow. Monday in IT.๐ค๐

Anyone feeling in the need of a little sustenance?

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is ready to bring happiness into your life. Or at least caffeine
Today we're using Kick Ass coffee blend from Kicking Horse Coffee Roasters.
There are donuts.
Plus I've got some nice rugelach for y'all.
Take care out there, 'K?

We have a chance of showers every day for the rest of the week. I see that we have had some after I got to work. But we need it after a couple dry weeks so I am not complaining (much). Does mean I will have to go back to my stationary bike for exercising, probably. Too bad. I have been enjoying the fresh air.
