Today we're using A Dark Affair Blend from Balzac's Coffee Roasters, which seems appropriate as when we stopped in at their first store in Stratford, they had a power outage.

Oh, um, yeah, good morning. How are things? Had a heavy downpour in the middle of the night but it is sunny this morning. Maybe that will lift the black cloud that seems to have settled on my soul. I do feel a bit better today.

Today is the last day of my lengthy vacation. A couple of days in Atlanta, then 2 weeks on Mackinac Island, followed by a long weekend in Ontario, were all amazing for the soul. But yesterday we arrived in Tennessee, and I'm blown away by the view from our "glamping" geodome. Hubby had to do some work this morning, so I thought I'd pop in to say hi. Heading home tomorrow and then back to reality. But when reality includes a beach, it's hard to complain.

My son has been dealing with some health issues that make my sinus issues seem paltry by comparison, but he has several specialists now, and we hope that one of the paths will offer a solution, not simply pain management and multiple trips to the ER.

My sinus issues are no better, but no worse. I guess I need to decide if I want to try the surgery that the rhinologist suggested or consult with an infectious disease doctor. I have another month of the current protocol, but honestly...not much has changed. Sigh...

I have been doing some writing here and there. Nothing is ready to publish, but some fun stuff once I have time to devote to writing. I have also been trying to wrap up the latest storyline for Mac and Grace. Grace and I have been debating things...she will likely win...she typically does. It's fun but also somewhat obnoxious to have a character be so bossy. LOL.

Today was not a super nice day. I failed another AI job interview after losing half of my students to AI tools in the last few months. Been calibrating my career plans. I actually wrote my last story just to shake off the stress.

Signed up for a short course to upskill. Life is challenging, but a cup of coffee makes it better. So I am heading to the bar. :) I think I need to go for a swim soon.

This all sounds quite fun. Too bad you and your son have health issues to struggle with, but at least you're getting some good downtime. Ontario being amazing for the soul is not something I ever say, but that's probably because I have lived here for 61 and counting years (which, not coincidentally, is my age). Maybe Central Ontario (cottage country and Algonquin Park).
