So excited for you, Bear!! For you and your father!
:worship:
I hope I can come to one of your book events. Regardless, I will get my signed copy!!
Hiya, Rumpies
Pneumonia is a stubborn bitch, but I think I’m a little better today.

I've just signed with Columbia University Press to write a book about the invention of a new science: physical oceanography, based on the papers left by my father, who was a pioneering oceanographer.
MS due by June 15th, 2027, which probably means a Spring, 2028 publication date, unless I can get my ass in gear and finish earlier, in which case we might make Fall, 2027.
So, forgive me if my appearances here are a little spottier than before.
Congratulations, Bear! Mimosas for everyone, on my tab.
Except you, Kimmy. OJ only. I will buy you something more potent when you kick the pneumonia. 😉

Or non-appearances.
Anyway, I'm pleased about that.
Now, what's everyone's pleasure this morning?
Coffee, tea, or something with a little more striking power?
Congrats! I know this was something you've been working toward. Cheers! So pleased for you!! 🥰❤️

Sure. Working title is "Going Down – with a Vengeance!"

Now, caffeine, anyone?
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Irish Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Canadian Maple blend coffee from Balzac's.
I've put out donuts, plus a selection of other fine pastries.
Take care out there, 'K?

Good morning, folks. I seem to have survived the loss of a molar. I would like to say I am saddened by the loss but given what a literal pain that tooth has been at times, it is more like "good riddance ya little sh*t".
Congratulations on the book contract, Bear. I do have a fondness for sea life and oceanography even given my own lack of ability in the water. I have Jacques Cousteau's love of the sea but the swimming ability of a brick.😳
Yorkshire Tea and the vanilla eclair that I see in the pastry tray.
And since we don't have music here much in the Lion's absence, here is the late Bonnie Tyler. Passed yesterday at 75. Wonderful voice. I couldn't even tell you the first time I heard her, though the song was probably Total Eclipse of the Heart. This one is probably more reflective of her fans mood today.
A birthday gift of a different sort. From the 2024 Dirty Talk contest.
Thank you, Bear... I have a pot of Yorkshire tea, and you can put this one on my account! 😊
I'm really pleased to hear about your book deal, and I will be another one looking to purchase it when it becomes available. That is, if it becomes available on Amazon or a similar site.
The weather in the UK is hot. I'm not complaining; I actually normally don't mind, but at the moment I'm basically trying to shrug off sciatica. So there is a lot of sitting and resting going on. Thankfully, I have codeine to help me! 😳😎

I’ve never had sciatica but have co-workers who deal with it. Hope it goes away! ❤️
Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️

German/Norwegian – isn't it good, Norwegian wood?
Have I mentioned that I met Jacques Cousteau at his Institute in Monaco because of my dad? I was only 13 at the times, so it wasn't me he invited in.
I do remember that he was a very tall, very gaunt, and very courtly gentleman.

Hey! Guess what?
It's Get-Fried-Day!
So let's start off with some tequilla sunrises or three and see how the day progresses, shall we?
We shall.
And some Jameson's Irish Coffees.
Plus, to soak up all that alcohol, I've put out…
Some butter tarts!
COME AND GET IT!

Stopping by for a Coke Zero. Just finished some modding. Been a busy day helping hubby do some electrical work for our neighbor, making sure to throw a little birthday love my son's way, and taking care of some odds and ends.
Tomorrow, our oldest grandson comes down to visit for 9 days! Looking forward to a couple of days at Disney and then some serious beach and pool time with him. He towers over me, so I'll be feeling very vertically challenged this week!

I need ice... Mon Dieu, Paris is hot in summer. It is not this hot. All I know is I glow, and it is not the heat, and I am a parody of the needy wife who's husband is away all week. I measure the days by how many showers I need. Today, three... only because my husband is home... I left my smell on him. Cassis and iced water, please.... urgently! 😘
Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin.
I am sure you have the courage, so here are my stories. Important people here think they are better than most.
Little Bird - A couple and their younger lover explore what it is to be submissive and dominant. A true story.
In Heat - An older divorcee needs to understand what motivates younger men. Or, rather, what they need to do to motivate her...
The Walls Talk - A young woman with perverted fantasies finds herself lodging in a house with an over-sexed couple.
Hey James! Congrats on the book deal; that's pretty cool, you must be stoked!
Think I'll have one of those tequila sunrises; good thing I'm late, I have a strict rule about tequila before 9AM.
Hope everyone is managing to stay cool. I was reading an article about drinking warm drinks and spicy foods to stay cool instead of icy cold stuff. Think about it: the hottest countries in the world all do this. Also: if you consume cold stuff your body will react by warming up to bring the 'cool' beverage or food to your body temperature. I've tried this sporadically but also have about 50 frozen popsicles, juice bars and frozen yogurt in my freezer.
My favorite trick is to pour ice cold water on a baseball hat then let it drip down my body when I'm in the hottest sun.

Comme vous voulez, Madame!
I trust it will be to your liking! And welcome to Rumps! We don't often get the pleasure.
I've admired your writing for some time, so – welcome!

Thanks Lyf! Stoked, yes – and daunted.
Columbia Press sent me their "requests" for how they want the MS – all 16 documents worth! And that includes a 38-page handbook about how they want it formatted
38 PAGES!
Sheesh.
And it's nice to see you can manage your drinking so … assiduously.
So tell me – what DO you drink before 9 a.m. if not tequilla?

A cup of Bertha’s coffee and a Pecan Tart since I don’t see any other “Tarts” here in Rump’s this early.
Bear is there any truth to the rumor that the “Official Burger Chain” of Rump’s Honky Tonk & Cyber Bar is “In n’ Out”???
Nah – that's just the customers that go in 'n out…
But you knew that, didn'tcha?
