Very mixed weather here. Sun, cloud, rain, sometimes all in an hour. At least it's not hot. Currently getting cloudy and rather threatening again after a spell of sun.

Had a midday dinner at an all-you-can-eat Japanese/Asian place (heavy on Japanese but has a selection of other Asian cultures' food as well). Now feel about 10 lbs. heavier. Food is good there, though, so can't complain too much.

Maphra packs quite a voice, singing and screaming with equal power and skill as she does vocal covers of a variety of music, mostly modern metal. Not familiar with the original of this one but it's a good showpiece for Maphra's voice.

Trivia: The original artist for that song, Jutes, is a Canadian (real name Jordan Lutes) and is apparently married to Demi Lovato.

More Maphra. "Unethical" was originally by the marvellous Moroccan-born Canadian pop singer-songwriter Faouzia and the original is one of my favourite songs of the last year or two. Maphra really handles it well, even sounding eerily like Faouzia herself at times. She might even outdo the original with the belts starting around 2:20. And if you go to YouTube and check the comments, she got a very positive one from Faouzia herself.

FOr comparison, a recent live performance of the song by Faouzia. She appeared on a Chinese music reality TV series a couple years and this was a guest appearance on the latest season.

Yawns. Quiet here this morning. The perfect place to get some writing done. Houseguests went home, hubby is at pickleball, and I don’t have a gym session today. Imma grab a Coke Zero and be over in the corner writing. After I check on the toys in Storage Room 4 of course. 😘

Yes, the Grandcubs did run me ragged all weekend.

When the 10-year-old left yesterday afternoon, Lady Jay and I collapsed in a heap.

It's lovely to see them – and great when they leave!

We had a quiet night, and collapsed into bed early.

Bertha is set up and ready. We're using Folgers … for a soldier

Yorkshire and English Breakfast teas are in pots on the sideboard.

Good morning folks. Tea and, oh, a couple random pastries. Rather moist weekend here. Yesterday was especially unsettled, going from blue skies to pouring rain in minutes at times. Seems to be continuing today, too. Cloudy with chance of showers is the forecast.

Off to work. Well, I work from home on Monday so maybe not "off to work" but definitely working.

I can think of worse things to bond over than one of the best rock singer-songwriters the US has produced in my lifetime. 😊

Work day is over. On to ... well, life. Weather sucks or I'd go for a walk.

Not much to say really; had a good weekend hosting the family, then spent yesterday recovering. Yep, my sciatica is still playing up. But enough of that... A friend's daughter is getting married this weekend, so we are away up country, Saturday and Sunday morning. Then we’re back for four days before flying away on holiday. I'm taking my laptop, so hopefully I will be able to post a photo here. 😈😎

Have fun! Be warned that Timmy's quality has apparently declined since being taken over by Restaurant Brands. I don't go there much myself unless there is no other option so can't really tell but my coffee geek son has been quite down on them for a few years now.

And good day, all. Decent weather in my world. I am feeling a bit off again. Starting to think it might be burnout or something like that. Certainly fits descriptions and symptoms I have read.

Time to take my Coke Zero and head to the corner to do some writing. I've been modding for a bit; time to give the partially finished stories on my flash drive some of my time and attention. If I've counted properly, I have 10 more genres to write in to reach the non-existent Double Omnium.

It is a shame that there is no Double Ominium Badge, as it strikes me, looking in from the outside, that it wouldn't be the hardest thing to introduce. 🙄 I would probably do it, having (very roughly) another 30 genres to write two stories in. Without it becoming official, it is unlikely I would write additional stories in the more unpopular genres. 😈

Trust me, there are a couple that will be hard to write. I've been putting off Monster Sex... the category, not the real deal. LOL.

I've been "pinball" writing for a few hours. Sadly, nothing got finished. BUT I did make progress on about 7 stories. 😜

Time to refill my Coke Zero. I'm gonna be wired by the time I go to Bunco tonight. Maybe I will win. HA!
