RUMPLATIONS: Awesome Honky Tonk and Cyber Bar

I've managed a few short things but they're so short they probably wouldn't even fit in micro...but at least I'm not as paralyzed now, so there's that.

It's the weekend, folks. Let's get our heads and bodies moving. From 2022, here's Nightwish at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. This is the first release from a massive collection of material they are releasing in December to mark the band's 30th anniversary. And only a month later, we get a new solo album from lead singer Floor Jansen (who is absolutely awesome in this video). What a winter this is going to be.

From earlier in the same tour (2022-23), two songs from an appearance at the Pinkpop Festival 2022 in The Netherlands. The first song is actually the song that, in a performance from 2013, introduced me to Floor Jansen.

I may have used a few Coke Zero’s but hide the cans in the dumpster outside. They to go perfect with some Kentucky Bourbon that Kimmi dropped off awhile back. It’s been aging under the counter and is Zero Carbs for a guy watching the pre-diabetic type 2 numbers. Sweet corn this summer has been a personal problem.

…except it ain't around here. Overcast and gloomy, but with a comfortable 17C temperature and low humidity.

Unfortunately, our son was planning on throwing a birthday party for our DiL in their back yard, but the forecast is rain.

We've offered our larger house, with more sheltered spaces indoors and out, so we may have a houseful of guests today. Not sure.

Progress on the book is slow. I've finished a rough draft, and am now doing the part I LOVE THE MOST! (not)

Fact-checking. Yuck.

Anyway … it's progressing.

Now, caffeination for the nation:

Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up, and sp… well, she's done her best given what she has to work with.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Yorkshire and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is ready to serve up.

Today we're using Loon Call Breakfast Blend coffee beans from Muskoka Coffee Roasters, for all you loonies!

I've put out some frosted crullers.

Plus I've got some chocolate biscotti for y'all.

Definitely a wet one down here today. Yesterday was nice, at least. Took my laptop out on the deck for some writing and other stuff.

Cup of Yorkshire tea, please, thank you, and one of those pastries - any one will do, as it's been a while since I have eaten something like that! 😀 The weather here is warm but changeable, with a strong breeze. Yesterday, we were at a wedding which was going to be held outside, but it rained, the first real rain we had for months. Still, it didn't spoil it.

I have just submitted Chapter 5 of my "Cash in Hand" series. It is the longest story that I have submitted for some while, at 5.5k words. I didn't bother to cut it in half, as it a important chapter and lets some of the story secrets out. I just hope people will read it at that length!

F*ck Trump. It's been named "Ontario" (or the indigenous root word, at least) since before Europeans arrived in my area so it's staying that way for the rest of us. He can delude himself and gaslight his nation however he likes. I have come to the realization that I will retire before he goes out (Unless someone grows balls and invokes the amendment that lets them remove an incapacitated president, because I really honestly think the guy has dementia. Kind of feel sorry for him that way. He needs an intervention, not the ass-kissing he seems to get.)

Housecleaning is done. Thinking about which story to keep on with. I really need to figure out stories that can be done in a reasonable length and time. I have two on the go that are headed for novelette or novella territory lengthwise (both not likely for here, though) and even the erotic romance I am hammering away at now might broach the site's 10K limit depending on where I end it.

Grabbing the Coke Zero, but skipping the goodies today. My scale said I shouldn't have had that Mickey pretzel at Hollywood Studios yesterday. WAY too much salt. But YUM!
